  1. Here's more of this "above the line; below the line" talk that some have tried to tell me is all non-sense. http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/blog/dennis-dodd/22972020/aresco-american-could-be-above-the-line-in-division-4 Look out: What some are calling "D4" is coming and the cutoff line is very, very high. Outside of Big Ten, Big XII, Pac 12, ACC, and SEC need not apply. The rest? Can you say, "mad scramble"? Didn't I say about a decade ago that all the motion from DII to DI by the big DIIs would trigger a similar move by the big DIs (to something new and just for them)? <patting self on back>
  2. It was out there for a year and a half ...
  3. And he is using Century club level for UND and all of the lower bowl is at least two levels higher. It's called an estimate.
  4. So 3/4 was working for you.
  5. That's been explained to Fetch many times before, ... with no success.
  6. Do you know how to use a search engine?
  7. Shhh ... Norwegians wouldn't have noticed that.
  8. A year later and I'm still believing in these two ideas. <patting self on back>
  9. Indubitably. If you believe otherwise, "May your only son become the goalie on a nude hockey team."
  10. "It's been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnall's porch since noon today."
  11. Why not look at "percent of capacity" of facilities?
  12. Based on last season, that could be said of every game.
  13. I can not disagree.
  14. I was once told by a high ranking Teammakers officer, "Fargo is a frontrunner town. When you win you don't have enough seats, when you lose you have twice as many as you need."
  15. If teams are going that far, you'd want to be able to get in two games: Bring back the Whalers as ... The Waikiki Whalers.
  16. I think the Community Forum needs a place to track news stories about people who've gone off the rails, into the ditch, and rolled (bursting into flames optional). The past few days it has to have been Anthony Weiner, but today I nominate ... Christopher Dewitt Craig, a former MBB assistant coach at Northern Colorado, the self-described “Islamist jihadist” who said Mormons and Catholics “would be destroyed” in the next two weeks. http://denver.cbslocal.com/2013/07/30/fort-collins-police-warn-of-self-described-islamist-jihadist/ Mr. Craig, seek help.
  17. OK, who, before that season, picked Peter Armbrust to captain the 2000 National Champions?
  18. You've hit on some of the key issues for (with?) Denver: - they are dead-set against being in a conference with certain teams, and Northern Colorado is high on that list, and that hurts them with the Big Sky - they have a rather (shall we politely say) eclectic mix of sport offerings that aligns well with no conference
  19. With Sac State and U No Colorado (fellow Big Sky schools), wasn't UND to WAC Baseball almost preordained? If DU and UNO can't see that ... One more notion: Will we see any moves before the "D4" leverage move by the Big Five conferences plays out?
  20. Considering Mollberg was one snap away from being on the field for UND last fall, and was taking most of the snaps for UND in spring ball, I'm not sure where you're coming from with the Vanderbilt reference. < Ferris Bueller "stop and look around" quote here >
  21. Your Summit Hockey notion has lots of moving parts (including having to have the MVFC play along). Wouldn't it be easier for the Summit to find a couple baseball affiliates (or get USD or DU to add the sport)? Ghastly as it would be for the Summit, NJIT baseball is available and would solve their issue. Last thought: Would the SUs and USD allow their futures be dictated by the evil that is ... < gasp > ... ice hockey.
  22. Simple questions: Where would EIU play? Their club team travels to Danville, IL, to practice and play home games. There's no rink in Charleston, IL. The trip is 70 miles one way. Who else would play "Summit Hockey" besides DU and UNO? EIU? That's three. Then ... who? St. Cloud? Duluth? Can either of those two make the jump to full Division I status to join the Summit? I guess I'm not seeing the numbers. Please explain how the numbers could work. My guess? EIU is moving from ACHA DII to ACHA DI.
  23. There's a lot of skepticism about the credibility of these reports in many quarters.
  24. http://chronicle.com/article/Lets-Give-the-Rich-and/139833/ Tick. Tock.
