    They were putting out a lot of stuff that just isn't so and anyone familiar with the history that got us here surely heard it. That too is about what I expect from the national media. (Makes you wonder about everything you hear from national media.)

    Regarding not using the interlocked ND in the future: I seem to recall when the version used by North Dakota was updated, from this to this, there was great noise as well. I recall letters to the GF Herald editor calling for Faison's head. My point? The interlocked has not been this great, unchanging constant that some claim. Nor have football helmets, as evidenced by this.

    People didn't want "cartoonish". OK, what came out yesterday is clearly not "cartoonish". This is "cartoonish". So we get something not cartoonish and that's all wrong because it's too corporate/abstract. When it comes to logos I see them fall into one of those two categories. So what else is there?

    I'd say it fails due to "head dress" but it fails far worse as "cartoonish".

    I knew that 740 The Fan in Fargo had a big license and a monster daytime signal but had to turn down at night; but, I didn't realize how big their coverage footprint still is at night. 790 KFGO day and night.

    I didn't realize until now that the KC-46 is a twin-engine (Boeing 767 base design). The KC-135 was a quad. I'd think you'd want the "single failure, can still stay in the air" of a quad.

    Like I said yesterday, when "Fighting Hawks" won my expectations were set exceedingly low (another "adjective hawk" in the NCAA?). Given that standard to start at, this logo did exceed expectations.

    Never liked the NFL PHI helmet. It doesn't make sense. The Rams? Sure. Horns on head. The Vikings? Do the Vikes ever make sense. But they do horns on head*. An eagles wings are on attached just above the eye? Uh, ... no. Give me the hawk head or the lettermark (that I made from the wordmark). *Yeah-yeah, historically vikings never wore horned helmets yadda-yadda ...

    Dear Drake: SME designed the logo. They were given chicken crap and tried to make chicken salad. Signed, I didn't vote for "chicken crap" but that was the outcome and I've come to peace with it.

    Constructive criticism: You turn a shaky at best "D" almost into a "P" with what you've done. I'd rather see that whole lower right pointy feature on the "N" erased.

    And you would know low-grade ... So how would you feel about this as a logo?
