President Kennedy Message on Athletics

That's a pretty large assumptive leap right there. The Summit plays everything we play right now (except hockey, and doesn't sponsor FB). As is today we'd be short mens soccer and baseball team to play all 19 Summit sports. (Side note: NDSU doesn't play Summit mens soccer, tennis or S&D, or womens S&D or tennis.)- 2,150 replies

1. Where'd the "safe" list (MIH, WIH, FB, VB, MBB, WBB, ITF, OTF, XC) come from? I'm pretty sure that committee isn't that smart on their own. 1a. That's 6 mens and 6 womens sports for 12. (Props to "PC Principal" for counting correctly.) 2. Are we sure this isn't Kennedy making "nice-nice" with the University Senate (and their IAC subcommittee)? Let them feel like they got to give input; however, do not forget that Kennedy said when this was started the final decisions were his and his alone (and to be done once).- 2,150 replies

Agree. I'd like to see (as previously discussed) the programs that use REA in any way (MIH, WIH, MBB, WBB, WVB, WSoc) pay in proportion to actual use of the facility by the program. Putting all the expense to just MIH would not stand up to any sort of GAAP* audit in the real world. *Associate the expense to the entity that undertook the expense. GM doesn't put the expense of the GMC truck plant under the Chevy Impala plant's expenses.- 2,150 replies

Yup. I noticed that. If Jost had to learn that lesson the hard way best he did it in that forum. -
University of North Dakota Hockey 2016 - 2017 Season

I'm happy Jost won the opening draw or they'd have been out by 7:10 pm Saturday. -
I just don't understand how 10 - Montana 12 - SDSU 21 - Cal Poly

No, back when I still had a golf swing. And mentioning that, don't you still owe me a windshield from that day I was driving Demers when you were teeing on #8?
-
You've correctly translated "vibrancy district".
-
Thinking about this a bit more, I wonder if they could put together a single bid job to do two underpasses at once: - put 42nd Street under the tracks at Demers - put 17th Ave under I-29 <-- do that and put ramps onto the Merrifield Road overpass for a far south interchange That would really allow for flexibility in the whole area.

Oh, and this makes me sad in a way. The first eagle of my golfing life was on #7 at Ray.

http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/4126729-und-owned-ray-richards-golf-course-close-nov-1-good Given the Bronson property is nearly full, and that apartments and light commercial surround Ray Richards, that property does seem rather prime for development <-- "vibrancy district". If Ray Richards changes, I wonder if there's a way to "adjust" Demers through there so they could finally put an underpass at 42nd Street. That would be very useful. Most phones have the FM chip in them, but not activated. And most require you use headphones as it uses the wire as the FM antenna. See if your current phone has the chip that can be activated: http://nextradioapp.com/supported-devices/ Here's more info:http://www.npr.org/sections/alltechconsidered/2015/04/16/400178385/the-hidden-fm-radio-inside-your-pocket-and-why-you-cant-use-it You can try installing the app from here: http://nextradioapp.com/ PS - If you're running a phone with Windows Mobile 8.1 as the OS you already have FM Radio.

The Moscow(ID)-Pullman(WA) newspaper picks up on the story: http://dnews.com/sports/emails-spear-asked-to-delay-big-sky-move/article_31a9ae29-33ed-58ac-b7cf-12f4decb845a.html

Nothing specific, but context of the Lewiston (ID) Tribune article indicates they were all in the first six months of 2016 as they were all leading up to Idaho's decision to go FCS in the BSC.

The latest in this soap opera: http://lmtribune.com/sports/emails-show-spear-wanted-to-delay-big-sky-announcement/article_8ab06486-6f3f-54a0-b263-64fbc6358453.html It's a subscription site. I found the article on another site. Do NOT post that full article here. Some excerpts: It's an interesting read. I'm sure somewhere SiouxVolley is smirking.

With the booing of a new nickname, maybe they should've chosen "Phantoms" so it would make some sense.

Here's where I'm at. The name wasn't my first choice. The logo is growing on me (clean, sleek). Most of all I'm happy I'm no longer wasting energy on fighting the fight was was lost on August 5, 2005. I'm happy the University is no longer fighting that fight. There was a lot of good energy spent on that. Now that energy can be refocused on building a better University of North Dakota.
