  1. You could stop there. We'll be the pariah for a while longer.
  2. I think "Noo" should've chosen "SJW" as a screen name.
  3. Any healthy organization looks at what it's doing, why it's doing it, and how it's doing it, ... continually. It looks at the people on staff, the skills mix, and the work that needs to be done. It keeps self-evaluating and re-assigning work and tasks to people best skilled for the needs. It finds gaps in the team skill set; it finds gaps, overlaps, or shortcomings in what they are doing. The good organizations use retirements or resignations not as "got to fill X's job" events but as, "what was X doing, is that still needed, what else to we need to start doing" re-creation of position events to meet a continually changing world. Organizations that haven't behaved in this manner need help to evaluate where they at and to get their way of thinking converted to this better way. Having a rotary-dial telephone repair person or a buggy whip re-stringer on staff because we've always had one is no way to operate, especially when there's 21 century work that needs to get done that isn't.
  4. Yup. Any new Med or Law won't be public. I don't see UJ doing it. But as SV says ... Mary? ... maybe ...
  5. I stand by my statement.
  6. The NFL can do whatever it pleases ... as can I ... < click >.
  7. Someone is going large on the conspiracy theories and short on new batteries for the wireless keyboard I see. Altru has affiliated with Mayo in the past. I'd be stunned if Mayo went full boat and bought Altru. I'd expect a merger with Essentia before that. NCSCS (not NDSSS) is dying in Wahpeton. They had to come to Fargo to get any students. They are making the move to partner more and more with business to be workforce training (pick up some of the continuing ed for small businesses that can't do it for themselves) because they can't find students. Kids aren't going to two-year trade schools anymore (and I believe that's a huge mistake by them but that's a conversation for another thread). Fargo has a multi-billion problem surrounding it, and another right behind it. Both are "water". The first is the diversion and that cost. The second is that the Red and Sheyenne don't have the volume to support the population growth. Fargo will need a new water supply come mid-century (and that's just 30 years). See: re-visitation of Garrison Diversion. University of Jamestown (JC is dead) put its PT program in Fargo to have a larger patient base to train their students. A PT program is not a "signal" that UJ is going Med or Law as well.
  8. Long, long, long after you, me, and Johnboy are daisy fertilizer.
  9. Their ratings were sliding the last two seasons. The cynic in me says here's their formula: a little controversy, get some press, get people to tune in to see what pre-game hi-jinx is going on today and maybe the sets stay tuned in.
  10. Twins fans were White Sox fans last night.
  11. The NCAA only allows certain artificial surfaces to be used for soccer. Some (like the old, flat "magic carpet") allow the ball to roll forever like it's on asphalt. Others (like the new more grass-like rubber infill) are better in that they play much more like you're on natural grass.
  12. Do you ...
  13. It's the punch line of an old joke. The joke isn't about pizza.
  14. Talk about taking one for the team.
  15. Messing with not one but two moderators. A little early to be that deep in the bottle, isn't it?
  16. Well, then, spell it all out. What's your beef?
  17. Check the "by line" of that story ... specifically the date/time it was written. Now inhale. Now exhale. And inhale. And exhale.
  18. Not a big name, but sad news about a former goalie. http://www.dial-murrayfuneralhome.com/obituary/james-corey-cadden http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=772
  19. Depends on the team.
  20. I'd love to hear Tucker Poolman's thoughts on the subject.
  21. I smell what is there to be smelled, like it has: The more the defense is controlling the game, the more the offense is asked to become ball-control.
  22. Allow me to point out something that happened that may have been overlooked. Early in the fourth, UND kicks the FG to go up 27-0 with just under 14 to play. Crazy as it sounds, MSU is four TDs from a win and has 14 minutes. We've seen worse happen. But ... the defense 3 and outs them; MSU punts. What follows is noteworthy. UND starts on it's own 10 with 11:51 left and proceeds to go on a 90 yard drive for TD consuming 8:09 of the fourth quarter clock. That, friends, is how top teams close out games.
