  1. So Altru is looking at finally scrapping their aged, piece-meal facilities and consolidating into a new building? Actually, very smart. Why? Because there are now contractors who know how to build such facilities in the area (Essentia Fargo expansion, new Sanford Fargo, UND Medical building) who are looking for work. Contractors looking for work tend to put in more competitive bids. http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/4356287-new-hospital-marks-bold-new-era-altru So, will this end up back on Columbia Road or will they look for a completely new site?
  2. Gino needs to step up, but Gino shouldn't try to be anyone but Gino.
  3. Gubrud's out but his replacement is UND's nemesis: a low number of career snaps freshman QB.
  4. Ottawa gets a guy; Nashville gets a guy; Colorado gets a roster.
  5. The league's no fun with the Cowboys to play the Redsk ... I mean Dallas to play Washington. Yankees gotta have their Red Sox.
  6. I do believe Cam was held out as a precaution after something at the end of practice today; however, I won’t be surprised if Cam starts tomorrow.
  7. Mr. Thome settled in nicely after a less than auspicious beginning. Good for him.
  8. Non-conference?
  9. Let in 2 of first 4 shots. Stop next 34. #howyoufinish
  10. Will playing on CC’s Olympic ice last week help out the team on Wisconsin’s Olympic ice this week?
  11. Midco customer. I have BTN as part of my subscription. Picked up one of the iPads. Got BTN2Go from the App Store. Launched it. Found UND/UW game down the left side and clicked it. Asked me cable provider (selected Midco). Told me game wasn’t on yet. Easy-peasy. Watched the last two minutes of the first period of OSU and Notre Dame. Only Michigan has uglier buckets than Notre Dame.
  12. Welcome Mr. Thome. What'cha gonna show me? http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/4354230-cam-johnson-sustains-pregame-injury-peter-thome-make-first-career-start
  13. Two episodes in and they are covering ... not a college program.
  14. Not that I see. https://und.edu/finance-operations/human-resources-payroll/careers/secure/job-openings-external.cfm?all=1
  15. And there is a hidden thing in putting your 7th D as 4th line RW if you're short forwards: Normally you put a top four pair of D out to protect the fourth line. In this case, the top 4 are solid offensive D who now know there's an extra defenseman on the ice if they decide to pinch or get aggressive in the offensive zone. Now if Wolanin or Bast wants to walk a puck deep in the offensive zone, instead of an F covering the point ...
  16. If you’re short forwards you make you seventh defenseman the fourth line right wing.
  17. If they need a D to move up this weekend my guess is Casey Johnson.
  18. Masterfully played.
  19. So we get to spend the week speculating on the availability of Hoff, Olson, and Simonson.
  20. But aren’t we all.
  21. It might have been the perfect play if we could block for it. Freshman freshman sophomore freshman senior is not a combination for offensive success. It wont get better until the offensive line is better.
  22. Complain about play calling all you want but until the offensive line is solidified nothing will work. Who recruits that position? They should be looked at. Who builds them up physically? They should be looked at also.
  23. All this is just noise until the offensive line is solidified. That is all.
  24. A 67 year old guy gives every indication he's going to stay on as long as possible by getting an extension just days before Kelley leaves office. (Remember that?) Or was he. To my eyes this was Kelley helping Faison out. Faison had leverage (the extension from Kelley). Faison got what he (remember, 67) probably really wanted: golden parachute. Kelley probably knew Faison's time had come and gone but Kelley didn't have time to form a committee to recommend that a committee draft a proposal to another committee to evaluate the AD. So, Kelley did what Kelley always did: nothing, but pass the buck.
