SiouxMD Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Bonjour, Sioux - GF Herald Looks like both players got some FBS attention...nice recruits for Coach Mussman. Quote
UND Fan Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Does anyone have any insight yet as to who will be UND preferred walk-ons this fall? Also, any info on Duraney White, the Canadian who had supposedly committed to the Sioux? Quote
Matt Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Has insight yet as to who will be UND preferred walk-ons this fall? Also, any info on Duraney White, the Canadian who had supposedly committed to the Sioux? I haven't even heard Mussman make reference to preferred walk-ons. Anyone else? Quote
GeauxSioux Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 How credible is this site.? K/P Brett Cameron - North Dakota - St. Paul's WR Ismael Bamba - North Dakota - St. Leo. Jr. WR Duraney White - North Dakota - Vanier Quote
UND92,96 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 How credible is this site.? That's been posted there for some time: Not sure how accurate this is, but this was on www.allcanadagridiron.com today: I saw him at the UND basketball games last weekend, and he's very tall--about 6'5". Quote
GeauxSioux Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 That's been posted there for some time: Sorry, that was longer than a week ago. That exceeds my memory duration protocol specifications. Quote
BigGame Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Maybe White is going to play ball at UND but isn't going to be on scholarship Quote
Bison06 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I have noticed that you guys seem to be hitting Canada pretty hard this year. Historically, have players out of Canada been able to make the transition to the American style game or is it difficult for them? Also, are there any Big-Time players that the general public has heard of that have come out of Canada?(i.e. been stars for UND or other colleges, or made it to the league) Quote
gfhockey Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Greg Lotysz, Scott Schultz, Donovan alexander right of the top of my head. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Greg Lotysz, Scott Schultz, Donovan Alexander right of the top of my head. Dave Fennell. Schultz and Fennell are/were near cult status for CFL fans. Quote
BigGame Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Mike Juhasz and Tim Prinson are a few that come to mind as well. Also a DE that was drafted into the CFL in the around 96-97, but I can't recall his name. Quote
UND92,96 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Dave Fennell. Schultz and Fennell are/were near cult status for CFL fans. Also Tim Prinsen, the Robson brothers, Mike Juhasz, Milson Jones, Lawrie Skolrood and Dallas Rysavy off the top of my head. Quote

siouxjoy Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Maybe White is going to play ball at UND but isn't going to be on scholarship My theory (with really nothing insider-related to base it on): there is a delay in paperwork, either admissions or NCAA. I know that at least on the admissions side, since he is from Quebec there are some extra requirements, like a TOEFL test and such. Quote
UND92,96 Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Dwayne Ell Oops--you're right. I knew his first name started with a "D". Quote
GeauxSioux Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Milson Jones. Unfortunately, his became a sad story. Quote

Rick Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Bison06, just in case you are not familiar with some of the names that others have thrown out, here is some more info on a few of the notable Canadians to play at UND: Dave Fennell: CFL Hall of Famer, 6 time Grey Cup winner, 1978 CFL Defensive Outstanding Player In addition to being one of UND's great football players, Fennell also has been a very successful businessman. He recently sold one of his goldmines for $1.5 billion. http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/view/minewe...6&sn=Detail Quote
UND92,96 Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Also, any info on Duraney White, the Canadian who had supposedly committed to the Sioux? Allcanadagridiron.com recently took his name off the list of signees and/or commitments, so apparently he's not coming to UND after all. Quote
UND92,96 Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Seth Wisthoff has been quite impressive in track so far this spring. He's thrown the shot 60'4" already. Jim Kleinsasser's class B record of 62'2" could possibly be within his reach. Quote
