HockeyMom Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Since the thread title is Talking Smack..... "Before you start saying how the other team stinks and how you are going to sweep, maybe you should have some information to back up your cockiness." says the knowledgeable little Sioux fan. Ha ha! Best story I've heard all week! Let's go Sioux! Quote
THETRIOUXPER Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Does anyone have any info on the status of Kozek. I thought someone said he was making the trip. If anyone went to the practice yesterday, did you notice if he was suited up or not? Just curious. Quote
01grad Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 If we can get the first goal of the game that might get the gophers down a little and they haven't dealt with adversity very well yet. It seems like when they are behind, they have a tough time coming back in the losses against Wisconsin and Denver. They did have some good chances though, but we need to score first and early. Quote
choyt3 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 10 hours and 25 minutes Are you skipping the 1st period? Puck drops at 7:07. Quote

They are outscoring their opponents at about a 2:1 ratio. They score an average of about 4 goals/game and only give up a little under 2goals/game. They have 2 of the top ranked goalies in college hockey with Briggs giving up 1.72 GAA & Frazee giving up 1.99 GAA. They damn near never give up any 5on5 goals during a game. They reeled off an 22 game unbeaten streak and 21 straight victories at Mariucci Statiscally speaking they should sweep UND, however, the games are played on the ice not on the score-sheet. I am sticking to my guns and saying a series split. I think the last 5 years UND has split with MN in Mariucci. I see this trend continuing this weekend. UND wins Friday but MN wins Saturday Quote
THETRIOUXPER Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Fixed your post. I think all of those fumes from washing jocks is finally starting to have some kind of effect on you. Quote

Sioux_Hab-it Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Kozek? Anyone? Anyone? In PCM's recap of the Coaches show, Hak stated he would make the trip but would be a game time decision. So perhaps he will sit Friday and, if any of the starters don't want to move their feet and hit, he would play in Saturday's game. Maybe some wishful thinking on my part, but I would really like to see Brian Lee have a breakout weekend, to see him finally take control of a game. It is about time for him to show everyone why he was so highly regarded. Quote

The last game the gooph's played "on the scoresheet," and "in the media" left danny-boy and ry-ry lamenting in the bowels of the Ralph. If i remember how the West Regionals played out last March. FIRE HELMET GUY #26 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 In a series like this you can throw out the record books, stats....whatever, they don't mean squat. This weekend is going to be the normal chippy, all out battle this series always is. Let's get it on!!!!!! Quote

Did you happen to read the last paragraph in my post where I said this series will be a split?? I even highlighted it for you. Yes statistically the Gophers are superior to UND so far this year. Break it down any way you want but MN's record is 13-2-3 in WCHA play where UND is 7-9-2. Does that equate into an automatic sweep this weekend---obviously not that is why they play the games (worn out cliche) Quote

Would be nice if they had adequate parking in dirtytown don't you think? I agree - we usually try to find a spot on the street for awhile, give up and park in the lot across from the John. I've never been to Suzies - perhaps we will tonight. I'll be wearing my hostile and abusive #11 Kelly Green jersey and a white cap. 6'5" so should be easy to spot amongst all the brown/yellow. Quote
