Dane instilled some work ethic back into the program, so call it luck or call it skill, but I'm optimistic that we'll see more resiliency from the team in green this year.

They were never going to do this with a non-conference team.

Sounds like there will be 3 outdoor games this season

I was skeptical about it too but hopeful. Would of been there for it

For all the people coming for the ASU game or to see a game at ASU. The parking lot that is northwest to the arena is closed. So parking might be a headache. There is free parking across Tempe Town Lake at the parking garage next to the Watermark (or it was last time I parked over there).

Some tidbits from Schloss' latest podcast posted today:

• early practice standouts on D: Verhoeff, MacKenzie, Laurila
  • Verhoeff showing more skill offensively...MacKenzie excellent skating...Laurila taking another step
• early practice standouts on F: Reschny, Zellers, Swanson
  • all three taking another step from last year...Swanson looks like he'll be ready for start of season after his surgery
• Malinoski scoring on his chances...none of the three transfer F are "flashy", but all three are hard workers that will fill roles in the lineup
• Davis will be a fan favorite with his hustle and work ethic
• went thru some UND recruit targets...lot of Canada Hlinka guys that we have already mentioned in the prospective thread
• Schloss sees 15-20 teams that could be excellent teams this year, which is crazy since at least 5 of those would miss the tourney...should be some good hockey!

Hoping Carels is permitted to hit people this year. Seems like te only thing Jackson didn't improve upohn last year was that we still had zero big hits the entire year. This is the year to bring it back!

In today's game, big hits usually lead to a trip to the penalty box.

Jackson's phrase is "check to score", which I take to mean he prefers finishing checks to gain/advance the puck, but not necessarily to blow guys up.

Our defenseman were so good at killing plays off the rush with their sticks that we’d regain possession and get it rolling the other way. I love a massive open ice hit as much as the next guy, but I like having pucks back up the ice quick for scoring chances even better.
