Liked Strathman but at the end of the day if you held a gun to my head I'd take Laurilla over him by a hair.

 

Assuming we add Carels he's also known for being defense first before offense as well. Then add in another year of growth from KV and look out.

Like I said, If UND gets a Carels or Dupont they have to take them.  I'm just saying another guy in the image of Emery but maybe not quite that highly regarded is no loss with the current roster.  UND doesn't necessarily need more offensive players on the back-end.  

IMO they absolutely could use more offense up front(specifically a center.). I do expect the sophomore forward class to be exceptional next year...at least they should be.

After last year's exodus the semi-surprises of Strath and Klee feel innocuous.  I had Strath pegged to portal out after this season before it even began; Klee leaving after one season is a head scratcher unless he's being pushed out.

Put up 31 pts along with 10 goals for BSU last season.

Littler is too bad.  He certainly could have had a nice jump as a JR.  Not like he didn't play either, with over 12min/gm.

Hard to know how many of these are "cuts" to make way for other players, or how many of them are entering on their own.
I would guess that none of these are surprising to the staff.

Or they were told there isn’t room or they could have been told they will be playing a specific role and they decided to take a shot at the portal. They could still come back if they don’t get picked up. Littler was a 4th line shutdown guy and fit the role.

I recall someone from CC entering the portal a year or two ago but then coming right back so that could happen as well.
