(they'll all be 20 years old next year which helps offset the "young" narrative IMO). Liked Strathman but at the end of the day if you held a gun to my head I'd take Laurilla over him by a hair. Assuming we add Carels he's also known for being defense first before offense as well. Then add in another year of growth from KV and look out. Like I said, If UND gets a Carels or Dupont they have to take them. I'm just saying another guy in the image of Emery but maybe not quite that highly regarded is no loss with the current roster. UND doesn't necessarily need more offensive players on the back-end. IMO they absolutely could use more offense up front(specifically a center.). I do expect the sophomore forward class to be exceptional next year...at least they should be. 3 Quote
beastandco Posted Monday at 03:36 PM Posted Monday at 03:36 PM Sounds like Kasper Magnussen to North Dakota Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted Monday at 03:38 PM Posted Monday at 03:38 PM After last year's exodus the semi-surprises of Strath and Klee feel innocuous. I had Strath pegged to portal out after this season before it even began; Klee leaving after one season is a head scratcher unless he's being pushed out. Quote

brianvf Posted Monday at 03:46 PM Posted Monday at 03:46 PM Played for the Norway U20 WJC team for the last couple years. Put up 31 pts along with 10 goals for BSU last season. Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Would Joe Gramer be a good depth addition on D? A la Menghini. Moorhead native so likely a fan. Quote

He’s probably not going anywhere where he isn’t guaranteed decent minutes, and I don’t think we offer that Quote
brianvf Posted Monday at 03:53 PM Posted Monday at 03:53 PM Another big one entering the portal. He's really good...was Maine's leading goal scorer. Maine losing all their FR studs with Poirier and Marques both leaving 1 Quote

Which sucks cause Ive always admired the kid that makes it ot of the MJ or NAHL and just battles and grinds in practice and gets the game here and there, endures for3 years or so and then develops into a leader or solid 4th liner for his sr season. A kid that embodies the Sioux spirit and leaves the program both better for the team and himself with a great education. Just dont see that as a part of the NIL era in any way going forward, for the blue bloods at least No more Cole Smiths, 1 Quote

Not like he didn't play either, with over 12min/gm. 1 minute ago, siouxfaninseattle said: Given all the talk of how great the team got along and how they all bought into the North Dakota culture, it seems like more of them are bailing out than I would have expected. Hard to know how many of these are "cuts" to make way for other players, or how many of them are entering on their own. I would guess that none of these are surprising to the staff. 2 Quote

Or they were told there isn’t room or they could have been told they will be playing a specific role and they decided to take a shot at the portal. They could still come back if they don’t get picked up. Littler was a 4th line shutdown guy and fit the role. 1 Quote

I recall someone from CC entering the portal a year or two ago but then coming right back so that could happen as well. Quote

Jax probably said here’s what the plan for you is (like Carle does) if you want to see what’s out there go look but that spot is there if you want it. 4 Quote
