Of course you want the best players you can get. Was just venting some frustration at the new reality that you can’t expect players to stick around for four years. Peace

I’m not sure there’s a perfect approach at this level, especially given UND’s situation. At the end of the day, you still want to bring in the best players you can and deal with the possibility of them transferring later.

It does feel like building one-year rosters is the reality now, and I think that’s the direction UND is heading. The challenge is figuring out the right mix. Do you lean on older, experienced players from lower levels? Target P6 guys who haven’t found consistent playing time? Take shots on high school recruits who might not have been realistic options before the portal era?

It’s probably some combination of all of that, and then some.

I see inforum story we have three transfers in the portal Sky Volmer, Finley Ohnstad and Fletcher listed in the portal. Volmer we knew about, Ohnstad I wasn’t surprised I don’t think she bought in even though she showed promise on the offensive side of the ball it will be interesting see where she ends up and how her career progresses in the future, Fletcher hasn’t developed enough to get enough playing time and would struggle to get more playing time unless she could make off season improvement. 
I wonder if parent on here is one of these girls or if his daughter still on the team. I hope so or we have serious problem going forth because have all these complaints but you don’t stand up follow through end  this move on in effect then you loose all credibility.

I see Darik Dissette is back in the portal, after averaging 14 points and 5 rebounds per game for Minot State this past season. I figured he would finish out his career at home in Minot.

This one really surprises me. I wonder if Taryn Hamling is also in the portal. AFAIK they’re a package deal.

Minot is getting killed in the portal. Last summer I wanted UND to take Dissette and still would like to see him on the roster next season

You really have to wonder what the impact of the proposed "5 for 5" rule change may have. It would give an additional year of eligibility to everybody in King's and Anderson's situation, i.e. played four years but never took a redshirt/medical redshirt year.

From what little I've read, it sounds like the "5 for 5" rule won't go into effect immediately, thus leaving the current setup in place until it does go into effect, which would be unfortunate for King and Anderson in case  they would have considered coming back.
