If the player’s hand grabs the facemask or rubs it, then it’s a major penalty. If he “stiff arms” the opposing player in the face like Kernan did, it will likely be a minor penalty. 
 

I believe it is either a major penalty or no penalty at all on a challenge. Definitely wasn’t major but he could’ve received a minor if it was called without a review.

After watching that game, I think they should get the sweep tomorrow, not because they played well but because ASU looked so inconsistent.   4-2 Good Guys.

I worry about ASU getting real cheap tomorrow.  Powers’ teams have had that penchant in the past.

The angle they showed looked like shoulder to the ASU players head…but they really didn’t show anything else so it was hard to tell.  I just figured since the guy ‘Gophered’ (fall to ice and grab your head) that Sioux would get a five out of it.

I think the boys can adapt to any style so I’m not worried if ASU tries to get tough.  ASU needs to Fear the Forks… Grand Forks!

He sold it well too. Sprawled out on the ice not moving and then gets up and gets into a shoving match with our guy before skating off.

It could have been either way, probably was a penalty though. Seeing that ASU also committed a major during that review probably made it easier for them to call.

Benching a young skilled player after one mistake was the Berry way. I like that Dane is letting these young highly skilled guys continue to play and develop. Yes, they’ll make mistakes but this experience will pay dividends in future seasons. Laurila will be a stud as an upperclassmen.

I'm very much team Jan in the goaltending department but you can't point fingers at Gibby when team defense took a night off and our penalty killing turned into puck watching, and letting ASU attack the seams.

I looked at the score sheet and they didn't report a penalty to the box which they are required to do even if the infracting team gets scored on.

Well, perhaps the ASU player thought he was going to get called and started the complaint.  However the way the officials were last night, he likely "forgot" before reporting the goal.😜

Our defense needs to get organized. We have great defensemen who have been playing lights-out for most of the season. Tonight they were really unorganized and made some questionable decisions. That won't fly against top-tier teams late in the season and especially in the post season. For some inexplicable reason, our D-corp does not play up to their potential in front of Homer. I can't figure out why, but it seems to be a real thing. Jan for the run!
