UND Football Fan Posted January 2 Posted January 2 If there is a quality QB coach Schmidt knows, Gordie may get his chance, as a TE coach I would think more TE usage. If Danny comes back then Gordie could move if OC job offered. IMO, we need speed at WR in order to utilize TE more. I still think when Danny was here our taller receivers were used as TE would and besides Bo, we had no true speed threat. Teams that have success with TE in pass game have that speed. Quote

However, people were doubting that Schmidt would take a pay cut to come coach at UND. Proximity to family can take precedence sometimes. Quote

This is a big move. Major opportunity for UND to get better. Most have conveniently forgotten just how disjointed the offense was for UND.
