Some of you may recognize the name if you happen to drop by periodically over on GPL (I promise, I come in peace. Went to school at UND and respect the hell out of the program at North Dakota, even if they're not my team)

 

Think the above is the mix of it being the weekend, tournaments going on, CHL issue, and a ton of coaches trying to figure out class balance with guys getting more years. So unless it's your dream school no matter what, probably makes sense for most guys to wait unless you're in it for the academic side (think it's why Yale has been active unless it's all those righteous bucks their venture capital founder HC is throwing around). Probably going to see a little more of what Fitzhenry and Schneider did last year around the board and is why I'm all in with Schloss they should just put back the commit date. Would be better for both player and school

Agree with upnorthkid,

a lot can happen in one year, let alone 2.  It's better for players and teams to commit to each other one season before they expect to roster.  Too much going on with portals and CHLers to have any real clear picture this far out.  On top of rosters and scholarships, the schools will also be needing to allocate NIL smartly and players (agents) will be savvy.

Great trio of forwards for them this weekend, but certainly none of them were surprises...it would have been surprising if any of them chose a team other than UMN.

If we can land Thompson and Morris from that US group, I'm more than happy.

I'm curious to see if they target any other forwards with them getting 3 on the first two days? I had Buttweiler pegged for them as well but wonder if they are more patient with others now?

I get wanting to play for a team your dad is coaching for. Once I started playing soccer in middle school, I didn't want my dad to coach the team I was on. 

I'm not surprised he went to Minnesota because of his dad being there.

Was thinking he might play as a draft eligible player as well.

 

Will be an interesting case study because college hockey even compared to when Macklin played has gotten alot better overall. I feel like Joey isn't as put together as Macklin/Eichel were but maybe someone can correct me on that

Brad got tired of being insulted over & over by the know it all on GPL & let him have it with a superb knowledgeable post to all on GPL. Now Brad is respected over there & Hammy turtles off the board. Tried to find the exchange.

Joey is the most skilled 2010 with the puck.  The question is going to be can he do what he does with his style vs bigger, stronger, faster players.  If he can, then crown him as the man and off to the NHL.  He's super talented and a nice kid.  The whole Cullen family are nice people.

Craig Button listed his players to watch for Canada at the Hlinka/Gretzky cup and 5 are uncommited. I would imagine these 5 (at least 4 of 5) would be main targets for us. Maddox Schultz, Liam Pue, Brock Cripps, Brock England and maybe to a lesser extent Alexis Joeseph based on logistics?

You'd hope to be able to get 2 of those 4. Joseph seems like a Boston University or Boston College lock based on geography, but don't count Michigan or Michigan State out.

He’s a big 6-foot-2 forward who powers through opponents with ease and has an outstanding shot release.
