The Sicatoka Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 OK wise and knowing Sioux fans, which of the freshmen will be the first to light the lamp this season? To make your prediction you need to: - name the freshman you think will be the first to score a collegiate goal, and - list during which period of which NCAA game* he will do it (as a tie-breaker). The winner gets absolutely nothing save for bragging rights. As a help, the expected freshmen on the roster are: Forwards: Ryan Duncan, Andrew Kozek, Ryan Martens, Brad Miller, TJ Oshie, Jonathan Toews, Matt Watkins Defensemen: Todd Alexander, Taylor Chorney, Joe Finley, Zach Jones, Brian Lee Goalie: Aaron Walski (No disrespect intended but this wouldn't be a wise pick considering how many goals collegiate goalies have scored. ) The first few games of the schedule*: 1. October 8 v. Miami of Ohio (at Dayton, OH) 2. October 9 v. Michigan State (at Dayton, OH) 3. October 14 v. Northeastern (REA) 4. October 15 v. Northeastern (REA) 5. October 21 v. New Hampshire (at Durham, NH) 6. October 22 v. New Hampshire (at Durham, NH) * The season opening exhibition against Manitoba does not count for this "sudo"-contest. Quote
Let'sGoHawks! Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Now this is fun...I pick Ryan Duncan in the second period of the Oct. 8 game against Miami. Quote
redwing77 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Yeah, I'm a rube. Late first, Oct 8th. Jonathon Toews from Porter and Kozek) However, this may not necessarily be the first collegiate point for the freshmen of the Sioux. And one other note: Finley will record the first penalty for a freshman in a Sioux jersey. Quote
siouxhockey5 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 TJ Oshie first period first game. Siouxhockey5 Quote
Brasco Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 TJ Oshie 10 minutes into 2nd period against Miami on Oct. 8, and scoring his second goal in the third period. Quote
spfreak Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 2nd Period versus Mich. St. Kozek on a tip of a Lee point shot. Quote
Blackheart Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Berditzman scores off the goalie's cup in the first period against Miami of Ohio... Quote
jloos Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Chorney - 2nd period, Oct 8. following a natural hat trick by Lee Marvin in the 1st. Quote
I Ranger Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Kozek first period vs. Michigan St. Had to go with something different. Zajac Stafford and Spirko will come out flying in the first game so the freshman won't need to break the ice until the second game. Quote
DAR Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 Chorney - 2nd period, Oct 8. following a natural hat trick by Lee Marvin in the 1st. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ha Ha a natural hat trick by Lee Marvin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell will freeze over before that happens. I don't think he will see much ice time this year. Quote
siouxnami Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 OK wise and knowing Sioux fans I think you got the wrong board... I'll go with Kozak in the first period aginst Miami of Ohio. Quote
Wilbur Posted August 5, 2005 Posted August 5, 2005 TJ Oshie in the second period against Miami. He'll wait a period to start his quest to the WCHA rookie of the year.... Quote
Sioux_Hab-it Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 First Period, Lee will spot Watkins in full flight, put it right on the tape to send him in all alone on Miami Goaltender Steve Hartley. Watkins will beat him glove side and Hartley will realize that he is better suited to follow in his dad's footsteps (Robert Hartley, Atlanta Coach) Quote
