  1. The guys won, so what does Moy say about the Sioux and the woods now? And got that tree yet PCM?
  2. An even more important part of getting into the top three is being guaranteed of avoiding the play-in game at the F5, assuming we win the first round series. DU can attest to that not being a given.
  3. Living in Valdosta, Georgia, which is only about 20 miles north of the Florida border. I'm from Minot, and spent 6 years in Grand Forks at UND.
  4. It very well might, especially since USD has dropped down the regional rankings themselves. Its not like a loss to them next week would be a loss to a top regional team. Have to see how the rankings look next week.
  5. Hard to win when your QB turns the ball over like that's the object of the game
  6. Win or loose, its NEVER easy for UND against UNO
  7. If that holds, UMD is setting pretty good for the D-II playoffs as well I believe!
  8. If that is truly your opinion, then kindly limit yourself to the football board. Others here happen to care about other sports, or in many cases, multiple Sioux sports.
  9. Ah, SiouxFootballField, maybe you should try using understandable English next time
  10. Yes, it was for the whole jersey, including personalization
  11. University of North Dakota UFFDAs. Fits in with the Scandinavian heritage, and stands for Un-named For Fear of Descriminating against Anyone.
  12. You have to match up like classes. American Indian studies would be a humanities class, Geology is a science class. You could replace a humanities with your idea, but not a science. Apples to apples here.
  13. And why is this so important to you? After reading through this thread, you sound rather envious of the Sioux program. If you weren't, there wouldn't be any need to spend so much time trying to put it down.
  14. What probably chaps more is the fact the NDSU doesn't show on the top 100 Do they have an agreement with Collegiate Licensing Company?
  15. Toews, third period of the first game.
  16. Agree with Finley , I'll go with second period first game.
  17. Thats why the only other D-IAA independent (outside the schools that left the NCC) is Savannah State. In D-IA, you have Notre Dame, Army, Navy, and Temple (a school that was so bad they were tossed from their conference). Not all that many lining up for the chance to be independent, are there? Heavyweights such as Florida State and Miami have left the ranks of the independents in the last 10 years or so because of the problems associated with being an independent. Consultants that advise schools on the move from D-II to D-I recommend against the move unless the D-II school already has a D-I conference commitement. This, by the way, was included in the report to NDSU. Your athletic people were advised not to jump without a conference. And now, from all I hear, your athletic department is facing a significant financial deficit from last year and still needs to raise significant funds for the coming year. Yeah, schools are just lining up for the chance to play an independent schedule
  18. That may be an issue with borderline players, but some athletes are clearly D-I caliber and some are clearly D-II or lower caliber. UND may loose some borderline players to NDSU, but they will also be the undisputed top choice of many North Dakota student-athletes who are good, but not D-I level. And there are more of those in North Dakota than there are solid D-I prospects.
  19. 1) Thats not true, they have these things called airplanes, and 2) even if it was, that doesn't mean I no longer care about my alma mater. I still want to see the best possible decisions made for its future.
  20. Mid-Con is a bad fit. There is no-one who is a "natural" rivalry and they don't have football. Football would be critical to making a D-I move work, UND will need the gate and other football related revenues. Going independent for football, in my opinion, would be pretty much as bad as moving up without a conference. Swimming, on the other hand, wouldn't be that important in making a D-I move successful because it is not a revenue sport. Sorry if I'm offending any swimmers, its not disrespect to the sport. But quite simply, you have to pay the bills. At UND, your revenue is going to come from football, basketball, and hockey. Your re-aligned Mid-Con might work, but there are a couple of major problems with it. It requires that NDSU and SDSU go to it. I would think they also prefer Big Sky because of football issues. It also depends on 2 or 3 additional current D-II schools going D-I before football works. That may or may not happen. Given how important football would be to making D-I work, I would much rather see a move to Big Sky if UND goes D-I. Big Sky not only has football, they are a D-IAA football power conference.
  21. And I can certainly respect your view. As I stated earlier, its not a cut and dried situation where one choice is obviously better than the other. I readily admit there are pros and cons both ways.
  22. UND is closer, geographically, to many of the north Minnesota kids than the U of Minnesota. We've always done well recruiting in northern Minnesota, which I would think would correspond to building up something of an alumni/fan base there over the years. Our northern Minnesota alumni come from a lot of sources other than hockey, obviously.
