Figured I'd start a new topic solely for the Frozen Four, which starts today.  Even without UND at FF, this is still one of my favorite sporting events of the year.  Once UND is no longer in contention for the year, I cheer for teams that have never won (2 of them this year - WMU and PSU) or the one with the longest title drought (BU is at 16 years, which is the same length as UND's most recent title drought), and of course Denver is the defending champ.

So, my order of preferred champions is WMU, PSU, BU, DU, with ANYONE but Denver as an acceptable outcome.

I was at the Frozen Four the last time it was held in St. Louis (2007), and I believe the championship game set an attendance record at the time (19k+), so I hope the event is well received again.

I agree and have the same order of preference, except UND's title drought is "only" 9 years since 2016.

Google "is most recent and current the same thing?" and you get this:

While "most recent" and "current" can sometimes be used interchangeably, "current" generally refers to what is happening or existing right now, while "most recent" implies something that happened or exists within a shorter period of time compared to other things in the past.

So, I stand by my statement that the "most recent" (i.e. not current) drought was 16 years.

WMU then Denver, NCHC over the other two

Ish. Only time I'd ever cheer for DU is if they were playing Minny. I'm not a big conference allegiance guy. I never want to cheer for rivals.

WMU is the easy pick for me. Not a real big rival for UND, I like their style of play, love their coach. PSU wouldn't make me super angry, but eff the Big, amirite? And then BU, gross.

Pretty wild to know we've beaten three of these four teams this season 😐

Western-Would be nice to see a new team win it and keep it with in the NCHC

BU-Hate Big Ten more than Boston, but not by much

Penn St - See Above

Denver- Hate Denver.  Anyone but Denver and this includes the Rodents.

Yes.  At this point, if the two were playing in an NCAA tournament game, I would prefer a Minnesota win.
