There are currently no open scholarships for next season, and UND is losing about 25 ppg from a team that can't seem to reach 50 in a game. He's going to need to make some tough decisions or else things aren't going to get better for at least two or three years. 1 Quote
coachdags Posted Monday at 04:36 PM Posted Monday at 04:36 PM Early returns for FG Pct % Bright spot we have no where to go but up! Keep chucking the 3 ball 🏀 Quote

Probably need a new game plan. 1 Quote
shep Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM Posted yesterday at 01:55 AM I watched the last 2 games and most of the 3’s were open shots Got to start knocking them down Quote

To me is looks like they are struggling offensively to get good shots (27 turnovers is an indicator they are having some issues). A lot of the 3s are either at the end of the shot clock, or look like they are relieved there is no pressure so they take the shot. We also miss a TON of post attempts. Quote
Hambone Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I think Hutter will need some time - although I thought that the women would look quite a bit better than they have. Hopefully they gel and find their stride and show immense improvement over the course of the year. 1 Quote

Other than the Minnesota game, the defense seems to be pretty decent (63.0 ppg ave., ex-Minnesota), which is one of the things, along with rebounding, that he stresses. And we've outrebounded the last two teams that we've played. Now, for the shooting/scoring. Quote
UND92,96 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I'm just curious who was expected to score who hasn't been? Coming into the season, I thought in a best case scenario that Demers, Aumer and Hughes might collectively score 30. They're at 25 so far, so it's still possible they could get there. Ava Miller is scoring about 10 per game, and I think it's safe to say she's exceeding all reasonable expectations. That means the rest of the team needs to combine for about 30-35 points to have much of a chance to win, and they're not coming close to that. 1 Quote

UND1983 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Culture is great and everything but better get some girls that can score all while they are being really nice Quote
EternalOptimist Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago We are on pace to give up 112 points... defense is bad, and offense is bad. Tough to watch Quote

EternalOptimist Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I'm trying to find some positive in that 1st half. The only thing I can find is according to the stats, we only have 7 turnovers. I think that's very generous of the stat keeper, but its an improvement from the other day Quote
coachdags Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I just want to enjoy watching a competitive Women’s Basketball game, cheer for my home team, and have hope that we will have a chance? Really since Roebuck left in 2013 we may have only had 2-3 years worth watching. Really sad deal. 1 3 Quote
ND-fan Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago The talent on this team is in freshmen and sophomores but they are overmatched with these teams right now. Second we are under sized at 4 and 5 positions and we’re not quick enough to play man to defense against their 4 and 5. Third Hutter must see this we are going to left by our guards 85% of time. We need to start left and finish on the right. The sad part is Pemberton, Horne and Ibrahim would have averaged near or above 18 pts a game with Hutter style of basketball and number of these girls playing now would have been better performances. I see that Hutter has recruited potential post player for next year. Finally transfers with exception miller girl and Hughes were all projects that had potential but no immediate help for this year. This is going to be long year but but give some slack he recruited longterm not immediate help but this rebuild is going to take time. This tougher schedule Mal ever tried with very few cup cakes in schedule. I just hope it pays off as the season goes along and I think he going to start settling on smaller rotation of players but with youth of this team it just mean more people in rotation but not usually recipe for success. The coach spent too much time on social media this offseason talking a great game rather than focusing on building a good team. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Shooting 36% from the floor thru 3 quarters. That's a plus. Higher than season average. Quote
