I will start this , tens years we have seen his body of work time to try something different. Now this is when Goon says who could we get ? How about some who fogs the mirror when you hold it under the nose, what’s the worse that could happen not make the NCAA’s   We have lots of talent but he doesn’t seem able to adapt to this new brand of hockey and ND will be left behind if something doesn’t turn around soon. Thanks Brad time to give someone else a chance. Do we want to be the football team , in the same league but never really in contention.

Problem you will have is who will replace him.  This is the UND hockey program we are talking about so in all liklihood it would be Dane Jackson so not much of a change and we would be looking at the 2016 title being the only one over 30 years Hak, Berry and then Jackson ran this ship.

People do realize that one key domino that occurs when there’s a coaching change is decommitments from recruits right? If Berry is canned, we likely lose that new recruit who gained exceptional status

If we are not winning, does it really matter?

Really hurt Denver going from Gwozdecky to Montgomery to Carle since 2013.

Statistics would argue we have been winning in the Berry era. I’m not going to open the floodgates and say winning in the NCAAs don’t matter, but what I meant to say is this team has the potential to be very very good, and to not be patient could result in losing talented players which would put us further away from the goal

Did you consider the list of injured players?  Ones that contribute to the success of the team when they are in the line up.

The competition to get the "top-level" players is a lot more heavy than even about 10 years ago.  Get the "top-type" players and they usually leave in 2 years or less.

This season is early yet.  Let them build into a competitive team and maybe we will be surprised and happy with the result.  And by the way, that is what all college hockey programs are shooting for, year in and year out.

Putting together a continual steady, successful college hockey program is quite a challenging task, and for outsiders, a lot more difficult than might be perceived.

I agree, everyone needs to relax and give Berry 8 more years to win another NCAA regional game since that's the standard he's set so far.

What kind of fan enjoys and is okay with watching their team play like ass?

that seems like a stretch of analization...   pretty sure no fan of the program holds that view....

the question, imho, is how to transition without disruption....   Hak moved up, don't see Berry having that route available...  I was "out of pocket" when Blais & Gino relinquished the helm.   If I recall Monty got the tap from the bigs, don't recall Gwoz's final moments....

There is nothing that would happen now anyway as it won't happen at all.  That being said we might be buried in the PWR before things get figured out and by then it is too late.

You quoted the wrong post, but change is change.  It always runs the risk of losing recruits, but if the coaches aren't putting the players in a position to succeed when they have more resources than any other program, then the change is worth the risk.

no, I did not,  no person even remotely familiar with the program wants to watch it play "like ass",  with the obvious exception of opponents and their fans.

Then why do many disavow any criticism of the program, no matter how ugly things look?  They clearly like what they see.

only a few take that stance, seems like you are creating a persona to lash out, I don't thing B-rad will bring us to glory on a regular basis, he may get things to fall his way if given a long time frame, but I also don't care to burn the program to the ground to facilitate the change....   I also think he deserve respect as person, as a former player.....

My scope is bigger than the small populace of SiouxSports these days.

Congrats, he's a former player, let's keep him forever then.  No reason to see what else is out there I guess.  He certainly hasn't done anything scummy like go through multiple layers of protection (including other former players and family members) to hide the fact that he was using a logo/wordmark that had no association with UND.

good points, my sole tie to UND sports is this site, the logo thing is an interesting situation.  Could it be used to facilitate change?

After winning his last natty, Gwoz went 1-6 in the NCAAs over his final 8 seasons. (Kind of sounds familiar).

Gwoz was let go in April 2013. By April 2017, Denver was national champions again and have won a few titles more since.
