cberkas Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 The most NHL thing I could see happening. Buffalo fires Ruff hires Hak, Hak makes the playoffs because he overachieves, then the next season they miss the playoffs because Buffalo sucks and Hak gets fired. Quote

That would be typical NHL move, or they bring in the other two always recycled coaches Vigneault or Laviolette. It’s always those 3 getting fired and hired over and over again. 1 Quote

Prison_Mike Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM I was at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto about two years ago and they had the goal that Wayne Gretzky scored his record breaking 802nd goal on display. Looks like they will be swapping it out soon. Congrats to Ovechkin and kudos for Gretzky for being such a class act. Quote

Coaches like him and Mike Keenan have that reputation because they don’t accept losing and hold their players accountable for their on ice play. For someone who is always complaining about accepting mediocrity, I would think you would respect that, especially considering Berry was often the antithesis. Quote

I think guys like Keenan and Tortorella all have a shelf life with a team. I believe they are brought in to re-establish discipline through a no nonsense approach. It probably works to begin with, then it gets old. By then, if they need to change coaches again, they at least have a new baseline of discipline to work from. I am guessing our program needs to go through the same transition right now to get to that baseline where we were in the past. 1 Quote
