UND won a championship under Jones. I would say that shows that you can win and there should be higher expectations. UND in my opinion should not be considered a top (or even average) school in the Summit though except for coaches performing exceptionally well. Coldest place, worst location, hard to get to. And to make it worse Chaves doesn’t appear to have a clue what he is doing, so no real leadership in the department. We agree on Chaves You can miss me with the location stuff though. Basketball is a global game. It’s not like football where you have a pipeline to a few states. The Summit player of the year is from Australia and had college stops in Arizona and Washington. He’s now playing in Brookings, SD. He’s not playing there because of the location. The only pipeline I think a UND coach should have is to the Twin Cities. It’s not as easy with St Thomas being D1 but there is plenty of talent to go around in that area. 2 4 Quote

Expectations almost everywhere are higher than 36% on the average. There will be some low offset by some high years. We are missing the high years lately. My expectations are also higher because I can see other teams like Omaha this year succeeding. I believe they were picked last preseason but their coach put together a (so far) successful season. Why can’t we? I see ndsu succeeding. Why can’t we? Why does sdsu succeed? Why can’t we? Interesting question. Not sure I answered it but it made me think Quote

Could also argue that the talent has been there the last couple of years but Sather has seemed to fail as a coach when it comes to schemes/X’s and O’s 2 Quote
GoodGood Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Here is my unofficial prediction for the rest of the season UND wins next 3 games, loses to ndsu and UST, enters final game against USD 6-9 USD wins next 2 against ORU and KC, loses next 4 against xdsu’s, Omaha, and UST, enters final game against UND 7-8. UND beats USD to finish 7-9 and gets tie breaker (no idea how that works) to get the 5 seed. UND beats 4 seed ndsu on a buzzer beater in round one of the SLT. Omaha gets 1 seed but is upset by ORU in opening round. UND beats ORU by 17 in the semis UND plays SDSU in the championship and loses by 36 2 Quote

We are bad. Should be heading towards the best time of the year but instead I’ve lost most interest. At least our average attendance is 50 people higher than 2019!! 2 1 Quote

Kab Posted February 11 Posted February 11 May I suggest using the business suits to see if they boost the win % which ones would they be ? Quote
forksandspoons Posted Sunday at 04:48 PM Posted Sunday at 04:48 PM Best possible finish is 6th. Have to win 1 of the next 2. Finishing 8th or 9th puts you in the play in game. If Omaha stays the 2, id almost prefer UND gets the 7 and plays them instead of getting stuck playing SDSU on essentially their home court. Quote

Do you know what the tie breaker rules are? I think UND and Denver both having 5 wins is a possibility. I know Denver was listed ahead of UND on the Summit League website when we both had 3 wins. Good point i guess we could also still tie South Dakota if they lose out (meaning we beat them again March 1st) and then we’d have that tiebreaker. Disregard my comment completely haha Quote
GoodGood Posted Monday at 02:34 AM Posted Monday at 02:34 AM UND (4-9) has 3 remaining games against ndsu, UST, and USD. Wont be favored in any but I'd say there's a chance we win 1 of those. KC (3-9) has 4 remaining games against Omaha, SDSU, Denver, and UST. I dont know if they win any of those. Denver (3-10) has 3 remaining games against ORU, KC, and SDSU. I think they win 2 of those to finish with 5 conference wins and tie UND. Who has the tie breaker in that scenario? Quote
