sioux24/7 Posted December 23, 2024 Author Posted December 23, 2024 Bama game has my hopes up again. Not sure we are the cream of the crop of the league but we should be able to be competitive. Still have some holes but if they play with competitiveness, we have a chance at any game. Quote
GoodGood Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Preseason I think i said we'll finish 4th and be a competitive team. Still dont see why that can't be the case. The top of the Summit might be the best its been since we've joined the conference. As of today ndsu is inside the top 100 and St Thomas (102) and SDSU (107) are right there. UMKC is trending up after a slow start and USD is much better than they were last year. I dont think Denver or Omaha are good. ORU new coach has turned that program into a dumpster fire Quote
ND1 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 One more warm up game before conference play starts next week. Has the rotation been solidified? In the past sather usually runs 8 or 9 man rotation come conference play. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Sather needs to figure out the rotation soon. Hopefully they can perform at a high level. Been an up and down season - mainly down. Consistency has not been a trait for UND basketball. Quote

Panoam King Eaglestaff Mayar Amar with the following off the bench: Woodson Kraft Mathews Surprised with the lack of Gouga recently though. Quote
GoodGood Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 No idea about rotation, just know 3 of the first 4 conference games will be cupcakes Quote
Und246 Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 If you think any game will be a cupcake you will be headed for trouble. 1 Quote
ND-fan Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 I don’t think we can look at anybody a cupcake in our Summit schedule most of teams have some good division I wins. Look at our schedule we need to play at high effort performance to get win. This team we have is not deep and we are in need of another 4 or 5 player and we don’t have point guard that can score on the drive. If I would we’re bet on finish for this team we are probably 5 in conference. Quote
GoHawks Posted Friday at 03:12 PM Posted Friday at 03:12 PM This team will not win the summit. Will be towards the bottom. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted Friday at 04:01 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:01 PM Still time but I have started to gather my short list for replacements. Quote
GoodGood Posted Friday at 04:08 PM Posted Friday at 04:08 PM If we finish 6th and are 1 and done in the SLT again, is he done? Quote

I mean next year is the final year of his contract right? Bill would have to make a decision whether to extend or not. No idea what he would do. I do know what I would do though…. 1 Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted Friday at 04:29 PM Posted Friday at 04:29 PM At some point, Sather has to deliver or step aside and allow someone else to take over. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted Friday at 04:33 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:33 PM I liked Walthall last cycle. Think I would be more interested in his successor. Quote

Things are further complicated by the fact that you have the identical situation going on in both the men's and women's programs--one year left on their contracts and nearly identical winning percentages at UND. Sounds like an easy rebuild of both programs to me. Bring in some good coaches that can bring some excitement to UND basketball!! 1 Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted Friday at 07:02 PM Posted Friday at 07:02 PM A person just has to look at what our new coach in football has done to that program. Still unproven but really seems to be renergized. There has been enough book of work for our basketball coach. 2 Quote

I guess maybe the youths will come with more success. Quote
