So, after the PHF and Union (PWHPA) dissolved the PHF.

Well now there is the PWHL with 6 teams Minnesota, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston, and New York. Calling them the Original Six :silly::lol:

No team names yet

The New York team will play in New Jersey, New York City arena, and Connecticut (because its close enough I guess).

Neutral site games will be played during the season.

NHL is supporting the PWHL.

New Professional Women's Hockey League reveals six franchises - ESPN

Quote

"That means games in other cities that are not cities in our 'Original Six,' both NHL cities and possibly even non-NHL cities," Kasten said. "In some of our markets where we are not playing [home games] in the bigger NHL venues, we will probably have events in those venues. We'll be promoting those as special events."

Let be real, play in arenas around 5K max.

Kasten said the league's business plan extends 10 years. "We understand that this is gonna be expensive, particularly in the early years. But we're prepared for that," he said. "We didn't do this for the short term. We didn't do it for the long term. We did it to be permanent."

The PWHL is fully funded by Dodgers co-owner Mark Walter and his wife, Kimbra. The Mark Walter Group purchased assets of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) in June to effectively dissolve that league in order to launch the PWHL as the only pro women's hockey league in North America.

The CBA still has aspects that need ironing out. For example, Hefford said the PWHL is working on its "transgender policy" that will be in place soon and available to the public. She declined to specify which organizations the league was partnering with in establishing a gender inclusion policy.

Yeah, this should be cut and dry. If you are born a male go to the countless other leagues or just realize you are not good enough.

PWHL Notebook: Training camp details, jersey reveals and coaching hires - The Rink Live | Comprehensive coverage of youth, junior, high school and college hockey

The colors of the jerseys are alright (the Canadian teams having basically the same colors as the NHL teams) but no team names or logos. Minnesota's could be a St. Thomas jersey (could have hit a home run with North Star colors). I've also heard the league hasn't found where the teams will play their games at yet. For a league saying they are going to do it right are really doing it half assed.

Went to a Frost game a night before we went to Wild/Caps game. Pretty good hockey actually. They do let them hit along the boards just no open ice hits. Britta Curl from Bismarck definitely belongs. One of the more physical players out there. I'll go to another down the road

Minnesota wins the PWHL Championship back-to-back

At least on sport wins in Minnesota

Hell of a series. All 4 games were 2-1 and in overtime. Bismarcks Britta Curl had both goals in their game 2 win

Man, that was a fun game to be at!

This whole series was stressful.  The Frost hosted 10 periods of hockey over two games (3OT game on Saturday, single OT yesterday).  Over 11,000 fans at The X yesterday for game 4.  Finally got to clinch the cup at home after a goalie interference call took back what we thought was the cup-winning goal last year.

It's so cool to be there when a team wins a championship.  I've watched it on TV a few times but never been there in person.

And for those who didn't realize it, future Hawk David Klee is the son of Frost head coach Ken Klee.

I did not know that about Klee.
My daughter was at the game yesterday too and she said the atmosphere was electric. I was at one game this year. I enjoyed it and it’s nice seeing the league let them be more physical than say the college game

Waiting on the story from Schloss to come out with any UND connections to both teams (just a joke as I respect him and what he provides us.}

Well, here ya go:

Susanna Tapani played for the Sioux for a year, I think, and was a member of the Frost last year for about 10 games before getting traded to the Boston Fleet.

Goalie Kristen Campbell plays for the Toronto Sceptres and played for the Sioux when the team was shut down.

Michelle Karvinen played for the Sioux from 2010 to 2014 and she has declared eligible for this upcoming draft on June 24th.

Those are the only UND connections in the PWHL that I know of.

It’s not that the league “allows” it.  It’s that the players wanted it and was part of the negotiations between the players association and the league when the whole thing started.  The players very much wanted the increased physicality.  It definitely makes it more fun and intense to watch.

It's never been the players that wanted that stupid no checking rule.
