Sorry for the late response, view was surprisingly good. Depth perception wasn’t great when they were on the opposite side but once they got onto our side it was really great. Big Green Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Do the Students pay anything for their Tailgate lot? I think is is time to take it away. It sounded like a good idea to get students to the game, but in reality 90% or more of the students come for the tailgating than leave. The ones that make it into the game leave at halftime. Besides that they leave it a mess when they leave. Why is the Alerus/und providing them another place to party. Open the lot back up to paid parking or charge the student the same amount for their tailgating spots as the general public. End of Rant. 1 1 Quote

Big Green Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago What the heck happened with the team being late coming onto the field? Is that on the team for not being really to come out or is the announcer supposed to wait until the team is really, than make the announcement? Sure would be nice if the band/cheerleaders created a tunnel/lane for the team to run out between. It would just look better. Now the run out and need to make a sharp left to avoid the band. 3 Quote

Big Green Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Last rant. At halftime can the kickers not wait until the band is done with their halftime performance? The band is a very important part of a college football experience. The teams should stay off the field until a set time. Say the team came back out 5 minutes before the start of the 2nd half. If you suck as a FG kicker the extra few minutes a half time is not going to all of a sudden make you a good kicker. Just seems rude to me. 1 Quote

Go to a concert if the focus is the music. Players can use the playing surface to warm up appropriately whenever they want, so long as the game isn’t actively being played; and on that note, the band still needs to improve their timing, in terms of game action. They should be quiet when UND offense has the ball, and play only to celebrate first downs and touchdowns. 6 Quote

Not that I disagree but for numerous reasons this won't happen. They used to have large dumpsters there for them to at least try to put their beer cans in - not that it stopped most of them from just dropping them in the parking lot. At least they are far enough out that it doesn't disturb most of the tailgaters. Quote

The band adds so much to the atmosphere of a football game. They should be given the respect to play without having to watch for flying footballs. Respect the band and they can add so much more to the game. Agree on timing for the band. I think an assistant coach or intern should go to a band practice and work on timing and ways to get the other student involved throughout the whole game. Besides just playing in heaven there is not beer after scores. 1 2 Quote

Again, it’s a football game, not a concert. And this is not purely binary thinking; there should be a partnership between both. I’m certainly not proposing that the band shouldn’t play- they offer a tremendous atmosphere boost and tradition- but it is just that the football team should be allowed to warm up on their home-field appropriately and keep the home-field advantage going. Don’t try to implement some pointless band orchestrated restriction on the *football* team during *football* games that could jeopardize the already great home-field advantage that the Alerus Center offers UND football. I mean, what’s the trade off? Most people are out at the concessions and not in their seat at halftime anyways …. Quote

Agree. Need to work around this though, it’s not a hard stop. There are ways to incentivize the Alerus to do better; in fact, a better atmosphere equals better attendance which generates more revenue. The city and the Alerus Center need to work with UND better and just strive to raise expectations and grow the product … it could be so much better and potential is a good thing here. Quote

Its not a secret that the band only comes to football games, because they need to play at football to be able to play at hockey. Maybe they just stop showing up. The kickers are warmed up already. I doesn't even make senses they are out there. The are going to go sit on the sideline after and either get cold or kick into their net thing. Just wait until a band member takes a ball to the back of the head. Quote

Ultimately, both need to do better, but there’s no question UND continues to be put in a position of needing to step up and rise to the occasion (and/or raise expectations). Quote
