Saturday Sept 6th is the Potato Bowl...any thoughts how this one will be compared to last year? Last year attendance was just over 10,000 as our former NCC rival South Dakota State came to town. Zenner ran all over our defense, now this year coming off of a 3-8 season and a coaching firing, you have Robert Morris coming in. I think attendance will be close to the 8-9k unless UND upsets SJSU or it goes down to the wire (ex. Fresno State) then attendance could be 10-11k. I can't wait to see the new video board, the food tents, and a great game on the field.

I think it will all depend on how the team does out at San Jose. If they lay an egg big time, I doubt attendance tops 8000, but if they make a good showing and especially if they pull out a win, then attendance will exceed 10,000 hopefully. First off though, we need to focus on SJSU and show up there. One game at a time and no blow outs. That's my philosophy.

Even though this sounds like a bunch of bull$%!# I know there are plenty of people who didn't approve of Mussman and didn't go to games as a result. Especially last year.

I've heard with my own ears that this true. However, the bottom line is people just want a winner.

I just hope our first game is not a repeat of Idaho, South Dakota State brought a lot of fans to the Alerus so there may be a handful of RMU fans (not sure how they travel), but excitement and hopefully great weather will bring out people for tailgating. At the Potato Bowl 2 years ago, I tried deep fried turkey for the first time (it was in a tent from a radio station, I think KCNN or KNOX) it was so good, I hope they have that again. Plus got a free little football from BWW...I can't wait for September to get here.

Robert Morris won't bring many, that's quite certain.

I say over 10,000. The opener and Potato Bowl generally well attended. Add in curiosity about the coaching change as well.

No matter how many show up, the real test comes when we see how many are left at the end of the third quarter. If fans are heading for the exits in droves, this isn't going to end well. People need to understand that football is a four quarter game having a half empty stadium just looks bad all the way around.

UND should defeat RMU; however, I'm not sure on the margin. No way to know; depends how the team looks in week 1.

I can understand if it's 66-0 and UND is playing all their backups, but other than that if it's relatively close then stay til the final whistle. Game isn't over until the clock hits zero...right Coyotes (2011).

Don't think beating teams 66-0 will be an issue this year. Robert Morris is not a bad team, they have won the NEC a few times in the past. The fans should have every reason to stay and see a full game this year.

Even worse was the 2012 Montana game. First game against one of the most storied program in our new conference, it's a close game in the fourth, we score a late TD in the last minute to take the lead and eventually win the game, and the Alerus is a quarter full.

I just hope getting beat 66-0 won't be an issue either. I'm betting we have a good team but after last year you always steel yourself for the worst.

45-6 will be fine.

I just checked the seats remaining on ticketmaster, and lots of seats remain in the 2 sections from the Endzone to the 10 yard line on both sides of the field, but a lot of seats gone from the other sections. I am predicting about 8-9k. If UND upsets San Jose State, I predict that number to skyrocket.
