southpaw Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Games tied and only five minutes left and this thread is only three pages? Wow...did tv or the not playing the gophers kill it that much? UND football seems more popular I think it's because everyone is using their computers to stream the game. I have two laptops in my living room, so i have one to type and one to watch on my TV. Still, I'm surprised how quiet it is this year. Quote
Emerald joker Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Continuation to the head elbowing, that's a new one Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Ufff Pattyn......the fine line between gritty and dumb. UND lucky to be in OT. Zane made some great saves to keep it tied. Quote

jodcon Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 LJ is just stupid for Luke Johnson.....I mean come on....100 percent agree. The only LJ was Larry "Grandmama" Johnson. Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 And a shootout that will mean absolutely positively nothing. But still a nice added moment for the fans. Quote
jodcon Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 And a shootout that will mean absolutely positively nothing. But still a nice added moment for the fans. So this doesn't count for anything nonconference correct? Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 "If Drake scores here its over!" Wait.....no its not.... Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Parks and Rocco both score on the same move..... ZANE WITH THE SAVE!!!!!! And its a tie.... Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 So this doesn't count for anything nonconference correct? Nope. That was just for show. Didn't mean a darn thing. Quote
Hayduke Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I forgot to put in my prediction earlier. 2-2 ties, but UND will win the shootout that doesn't count... Whew....I hope I did that in time.. Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I enjoyed the referee explaining to the Vermont coaches why there would be a shootout. And the Vermont coach making sure the game would go down as a tie. Quote
siouxjoy Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Nope. That was just for show. Didn't mean a darn thing. I'm going to disagree. Isn't it good practice for potential conference shootouts? Quote
burd Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 If we have to tolerate shootouts, at least we get to see Rocco turn goalies in circles Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I'm going to disagree. Isn't it good practice for potential conference shootouts? I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. Just responding to a post asking if it means anything. I'm very glad they do it even in the non conference games. Quote
southpaw Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I'm going to disagree. Isn't it good practice for potential conference shootouts? I think the shootouts are good for our national exposure... and I've learned that's all that matters. Quote
jodcon Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. Just responding to a post asking if it means anything. I'm very glad they do it even in the non conference games. It's probably a good thing because some people will leave at the end of regulation because it doesn't mean anything and some people will stay until after the shootout, and people won't have to wait for the buses so long because it will be like two different crowds...oh wait a minute...never mind. 1 Quote
tnt Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 I'm going to disagree. Isn't it good practice for potential conference shootouts? It's hard to say if it is good or bad. Both Rocco and Parks have highlights of a go to move that has worked. Might have to go with a change up in the next shootout. Quote
Wilbur Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Alright....thoughts: ~After week #1 the #1 goaltender is obviously Zane. Played very well, and made some big saves when they needed them in the third period. ~They can't have Mark play with Mitch. If anyone who watched disagrees I'm all ears for why it some how works. ~Rocco and Drake will draw a lot of attention. Thats why Parks-Mark-Johnson will be that much more potent. ~Keaton Thompson learned what it feels like to get undressed in front of 12,000 people. He'll learn though. ~Stecher again was solid. ~I like the grit Pattyn plays with, but at the end of the game you can't take a penalty in the opposite end of the rink. Hak said it best last night. That group can't take penalties. Series went how I thought it would. On the road next week in Miami! Ohh wait....the one in Ohio? Quote
Fetch Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 Zane needs to stay in net we dont need or want a goalie controversy this yr Quote
Sioux-cia Posted October 13, 2013 Posted October 13, 2013 What the heck was the last penalty? The announcer didn't say 'contact to the head'. It sounded like 'continuous head contact'. Or something like that. Quote
