I was wondering why they paid for the road to be redone at the mall.  Makes more sense now if they are looking to purchase it.   Scheels would be a company with the money to do it right.  I would hate to see it turned into condos for old people.

Why?  He is a private developer and rather successful.  He and a partner are building 35 homes (small lots/footprint) on the west side of Crary Park.  To date, they have sold all but a few of them I believe.

I believe Crary and a few others are buying the actual mall and will then bring forth some new PILOT requests to the City.

Not sure the mayor should be allowed to personally buy a big project like this that he definitely has inside info on.

Conflict of interest? No big deal in ND. ND senate just killed a bill that would have prevented datacenter NDA’s. Obviously these politicians and officials dont want to go without that money they make from their inside info.

So the mayor can't have a job or way to make more money other than the part-time mayor gig of 40K/year?  Where is the inside information of recognizing the need for more affordable housing and finding a way to make it happen.

He should be allowed a side gig. At the same time he should avoid conflict of interest. Hard for those in power to understand this it seems.
