Why does it need to remain a par 36? If you're referring to you don't want it to be a par 3 course I'll get on board but not concerned if it ends up being a par 34 or 35. I am on board though with the top golf set up though, I'm assuming that means we'd be able to hit some golf balls outside in the winterish months. That would be awesome. 2 Quote

Kab Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Just get it done as presented with housing and the golf driving range . if grand forks isn’t building more living spaces of all kinds it’s going to be left further behind than it is build what people want, Fargo and Bismarck are building snowbird type housing now where you actually own the space and pay for it and the hoa fees monthly, then sell when you move on. build where there is actually infrastructure in place so the costs are lower , up not out . 1 Quote

Because there's only so many people in the city. On average Grand Forks needs about two to four new apartment complexes a year to keep up with population growth. 2 Quote

Have any UND golfers actually set foot on Ray Dicks? I've only ever seen them at King's Walk. Can't imagine playing a sloppy 9 hole course gets them ready for their tournaments all over the country. 2 Quote

I love drivable par 4's, nothing better if it's got some good strategy. Throw a boomerang green on one of the holes at RR, this one at Sand Valley is a blast. Played it 4 times and still trying to figure out the best approach. 1 Quote

Big Green Posted June 16 Posted June 16 Isn't Top Golf a fad that is ending? I've heard Top Golf locations are not doing well. Not sure this it time to open a Top Golf type site. Quote

Are they still leaving the greens like shag carpet? Doesn’t matter what the layout is, I’ve always enjoyed Ray Dicks fwiw, when you have to hammer the ball to roll it 10’. Quote

I think it's slowed down a bit since though, that was a few years ago. Quote

Population growth? 4-5 apartment complexes per year? I'm assuming this is just a running inside joke I missed haha. At best GF has been stagnant, and most years actually getting smaller. Which is actually quite the impressive feat figuring all it's largest ND and SD peers are growing 10-25% in this same span. It's almost like Grand Forks is actively pushing to keep people out. I'm not sure how they're accomplishing it. Quote
