sioux24/7 Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I know basketball and hockey are just reaching conference tournament time but I just cannot wait for football this upcoming season! So excited to see Mollberg and how he can handle the offense and excited to hopefully see our defense improve. I have always been a big fan of Javen Butler so hopefully he can step up. 2 Quote
homer Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 We need a few to step up in the secondarty this year. Hopefully Javen can be one of those guys. I think we were all pretty excited when he signed a few years ago. Quote
FSSD Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 I saw the MidCo sports is going to have a spring game special for all four schools. Quote

geaux_sioux Posted March 11, 2013 Author Posted March 11, 2013 I'm very excited to see how much players developed this winter. Maybe Shaugabay is the dark horse rb this spring? The qb battle should be on pay per view, it will be awesome. Quote
southpaw Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 It would be nice to get the Cal QB, Allan Bridgford. Although if he does graduate this summer he is eligible to go to FBS schools. Has one, possibly two years of eligibility. Works well in pro style offense. Quote
siouxfbfan Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Are they going to do another HBO "hard knocks" style webcast for spring ball? that would be awesome! 1 Quote

Has one, possibly two years of eligibility. Works well in pro style offense. I agree. I think that it would be good from two standpoints: 1. Increased competition for the position. 2. Insurance against one or both freshmen getting injured or not being quite ready yet. Quote

He pushes the ball with t-Rex arms instead of flicking the ball with a fully extended arm. He's inaccurate and doesn't throw a very nice ball. He's no Braden Hanson to say the least. Ill gladly sick with Bartels and Mollberg instead. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=jQKDVkQeymk&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DjQKDVkQeymk Quote
geaux_sioux Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 Pj sparks was named the beef master for 2013 and Seth Stanchik was named the 'big guy' beef master for 2013. Impressive that sparks beat out Bridges who has a huge advantage with his low weight. Also nice to see Stanchik win this. He struggled after coming back from that gruesome leg injury last year, hopefully this next year he can be a beast. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I want to talk football. People continue to talk! Quote
geaux_sioux Posted March 13, 2013 Author Posted March 13, 2013 Soooooo...... It'll be very exciting to see the new punter this year. I bet he's the real deal. Quote
Green617 Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Fill us in. Who is he, Where is he from etc....The punter and field position is a huge part of the game Quote

geaux_sioux Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 The motto for football strength and conditioning is bigger faster stronger. I've heard from a very good source that the offensive line had a particularly great winter and as a whole got way bigger and stronger and yet also got much faster. 1 Quote
geaux_sioux Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Also the wr group got way stronger and ran very well as evidence by Golladay running a 4.5 which is at least a .3 sec increase. Quote

Teeder11 Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 This year... I hope the defense dominates in the spring game. That will make me rest a bit easier over the summer. 1 Quote

geaux_sioux Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 They'll be improved for sure but by how much will remain to be seen. Just keep in mind that our wr will give every team fits regardless of how good their DBS are Quote

Green617 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Glad to hear the OL had a good winter. I heard Anderson really pushed with strength and a fast 40/Agility time for Walker. A lot of Personal Records accomplished. Quote
