geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Looks like Dylan Harmston committed. He does have great instincts Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 @KjStudsrud: Officially going to University of North Dakota to play football. Thanks to everyone who made it possible especially my teammates #Sioux Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 @KjStudsrud: Officially going to University of North Dakota to play football. Thanks to everyone who made it possible especially my teammates #Sioux Glad we got him! He's a solid quarterback prospect! Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Nice. Hopefully not the last of the verbals today. Two very solid ones already. Quote
jjensen Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 SFI is saying that Luke Fiedler, TE from Orlando has committed as well. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Boom. Keep me rolling in. Fielder has a good frame and good feet for his height. His red shirt year should be spent at the dining halls and the weight room. FR 30. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 SFI also just confirmed what 24/7 already knew. Quote
UND92,96 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Sounds like an excellent first recruiting weekend. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I don't remember so many kids committing on their visit as this one! Very well could have happened many times before that I just didn't know of but it's exciting! I have a feeling that Reid Taubenheim will also end up committing here soon. If he does commit here, would he not redshirt and take over the kicking duties right away or is Meindel planned to take on both punting and kicking this year? Quote
jjensen Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Looks like und recruit Ezra Szczyrbak, DE from Moose Lake, MN is going to NDSU. Know the new staff had gone and talking to him. Was hoping we could get him. Quote

homer Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Welcome to the new commitments. Studsrud is a real good athlete and has been one if the top targets at qb for a while. I really like to see a 6'5" tight end. Need to get back to utilizing that position. I trust bubba and Schmidty with evaluating LBs. Their defenses at SIU were always pretty solid at those positions. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 All three of today's commitments are solid additions and they all will likely be contributing in a couple years. Welcome to UND! Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Studsrud has a visit to Minnesota scheduled for the 31st I believe. Do we have anything to worry about there? Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Do we have anything to worry about there? That they get their feelings hurt? Quote
Hambone Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Does anyone know if Justin Diddell was on campus for sure? Was supposed to be per rivals but I really didn't hear anything about him..... Quote

geaux_sioux Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I think he meant to say he likes seeing the TE. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Which players are the ones that usually host recruits? I would guess that the younger guys would be the ones and if the recruit that is visiting is a o-lineman than I would assume that one of our o-lineman would host him. Anybody want to further elaborate or correct me? Quote

Anybody want to further elaborate or correct me? Usually try and match kids based on whether or not they know each other, have similar , interests, play same position, or came from same conference or area. Usually use your younger guys who will be around another 3-4 yrs. coaches weigh multiple factors. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I think that we should just let Dustin Iverson host everyone. Quote
forksandspoons Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 solid commits today, pretty happy with Bubba so far!! I'd put money down on playoffs by his second year. also, i feel like he'll get us 5 wins next season maybe 6. Quote
petey23 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Looks like RB Josh Parks is going to choose between a PWO opportunity with Minny or UND. http://sports.yahoo....2FjMgR2dGlkAw-- Hope we can get this kid. His options at Minnesota would be to change positions or back-up Jones for 4 years(or 3 if he redshirts). Quote

My guess is that Jones will redshirt because they alread have to solid RB's, play 2 years and bolt for the NFL. Quote
