Let'sGoHawks! Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 40-29 at the half, UND winning. Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 18-5 run to end the half. Sioux lead 29-40 at half. Lets not pull a USD and blow the lead. Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I haven't followed much basketball since the transition, but Jones seems to be doing a pretty good job lately. Still very impressed with last seasons finish. Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 The Coyotes football team took over the Sioux. 49-46 Sioux. Mussman in attendance. Quote

IrishSiouxFan Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Who's the big face of behind the Montana's goal? Quote
UND Fan Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Unreal overtime so far - Montana has not scored yet! Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Who's the big face of behind the Montana's goal? No wonder they call UND a hockey school. Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Sioux win!!!! Does this mean we are already ahead of Montana in "their transition." Quote
Westside Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Good win... But better practice those free throws, fellas. Quote
Cratter Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Great Sioux basketball game on National Television!! Quote

coachdags Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Miss 19 throws, 23 turnovers, and Still Win in OT..... That is saying something......Way to gut it out! Quote
MGSD Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Montana is normally a strong team. UND looks better than it has for many years so far. Great to see. Quote
star2city Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Who's the big face of behind the Montana's goal? The big face is the face of Mike Mathison, the UND backup center from Walhalla. Mathison was one of the players that was on the cable hand fishing show. Quote
star2city Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Montana is normally a strong team. UND looks better than it has for many years so far. Great to see. UND needs to figure out how to penetrate a zone defense. Montana practically stimied the Sioux offense in the second half. With Brekke and Mitchell fouling out late in the 4th quarter, didn't think UND would pull this out. But Montana quit hitting threes and UND got a couple of big steals. Quote
star2city Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Sioux win!!!! Does this mean we are already ahead of Montana in "their transition." Montana went to the NCAA's two years ago, and barely lost out to N Colorado last year. Two of the stars of those teams, Cherry and Selvig, are still playing. Williston's Quale graduated this past year. A win like this really serves notice to the Big Sky that Sioux men's basketball can be a serious threat to the Big Sky conference crown. 1 Quote
Ole in MSP Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Good win... But better practice those free throws, fellas. Yes, and never let Schuler bring the ball up the floor. Quote
star2city Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Yes, and never let Schuler bring the ball up the floor. Schuler was the only one hitting free throws after being fouled. Quote
sioux24/7 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Yes, and never let Schuler bring the ball up the floor. Agreed but I do want the ball in his hands when they are fouling. Quote

Smoggy Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I went to the game for the first time in quite a while. Ugly game. No flow in the first half. So many fouls and dribbling turnovers both ways. Sioux were getting worked inside early. Once our guards starting playing some help D we did better. I'd be surprised if Montana shot from outside more than 5 times in first half. Second half was frustrating to watch but at least wasn't so much down time. Montana was hitting 3's lights out. I think 5 in a row at one point. And our guards did not attack the zone defense unless they dribbled right into someone. Too many turnovers. Too many missed threes. And free throws!!!! Ok, so I sound like a debbie downer, but we should've throttled them. Some good things. Brekke's first step is so quick and he tipped so many shots. And I love his roll off a screen. Most of our big guys are open on the roll, but the guards don't get them the ball. Mitchel can score anywhere in the paint. I thought the guards did a very good job driving to the hoop early. Webb and his floater in the lane. We have some quickness and definitely can jump. Lots of blocked and redirected shots. Imagine making some extra free throws and having half the turnovers. Then its more like a 20 point win. Though our D did good job grabbing turnovers as well especially in ot. Quote
