    • On occassion, but not annually

    • No, we've gone our separate ways so let's focus on building new rivalries

You keep throwing out money as an excuse for your coach leaving, but many FU fans were convinced their coach was somehow attached to the team and the community and would never leave - all it took was money and he was gone in a flash and it was ALL about the money - guess the fans, the fame, the city (and all its bright lights), the "tradition" weren't enough based on his priorities.

Million plus reasons why but pretty sure the field wasn't one of them

Wyoming has better facilities than the College of Home Economics at the University of Agriculture and Applied Science. They have a very nice IPF, etc... All on the east side of the campus.

But, since you've probably never left Fargo, except maybe the occasional trip to K-Mart in Moorhead, you'll never know.

Bohl left because it was his best shot at going FBS. Where subdivision championships are not considered "tradition" with state universities, but the coward's way out of playing with the big boys.

The flagship school in North Dakota, the University of North Dakota, and the land grant technical training program in Fargo are playing at the right level of sports...finally! But, don't let winning at the FCS level fool you.

FBS schools, even low rung programs like Wyoming are a whole different level. One win a year against FBS schools, usually those in dire straights, makes an impression to the point where an FBS program, with power, money and tradition, will scoop up those responsible and leave the FCS program scrambling for new leadership. But, it's still only one win a year.

The only one that is impressive to me is this year, the win against Kansas State. But even that win I kind of question. Two brand new QB's at K-State learning a new system against what is arguably the best FCS team ever, FU fresh off another national championship with their kinks well worked out.. I'd take K-State in the rematch of the same teams now.

Bottom line is Wyoming bought Bohl. Because Wyoming has spent decades playing at the highest level and building their program and tradition. They've played and beaten the big boys. Oh, they've lost their share. But, always at the highest level year in and year out. While FU and even UND have hidden at the D-II level.

Money and tradition talks. Gene Taylor takes a walk.

NDSU would crush Wyoming this year

Yeah, this year.

But, the subdivision football program at the University of Agriculture and Applied Science forgot to cherry pick Wyoming this year.

Next year, not so much...or the following years. Or the previous years...like when they played a crappy Wyoming team under Joe Glenn and lost.

You posters who say it is ALL about the money are completely ignoring many interviews that Craig Bohl has done since the decision was made to move along.

Did money play a large role? Absolutely, but he had opportunities to move on prior to this year if it was truly all about the money. Why now? If he is some mercenary for hire like some are making him out to be, why not take one of the other jobs that he interviewed for prior to this one.(Don't begin to say he didn't have other opportunities, I know different).

The reason he ultimately moved on is EXACTLY what he said in his interviews. He has nothing left to accomplish in Fargo. The fan base in Fargo, as many of you love to point out, has unrealistic expectations(see delusional, your word for it). If he sticks around and we have a few down years, which let's be honest, anything less than a National Championship will be a let down in the next 2-3 years. The fans will call for his head, just as they did in '08-'09. Unrealistic expectations from the fan base, yes, but that's reality.

Money played a role, as it does in all of our lives when we make career decisions. I've known many entrepreneurs who have walked away from gold mine, set for life, kids and grandkids set for life businesses to take on a new challenge in life. It happens all the time.

Money played a role, no doubt, but the challenge of it all is what drove this decision if you ask me.

Moooo u doesn'twant to play because losing again would hurt recruiting, plus if it was played in GF there wouldn't be enough parking for the mobile homes and tractors.

At this point no need to play GFU. Nothing to gain. In a few years it might be worth it though

Next year for sure too. And I'll give you $1.2 million reasons why you better hope you're right. That dude was expensive.

We're any of those offers better than the Wyoming job? Or for the same amount of money? Just curious since you seem to know different

As opposed to hiding at the D-II level and playing NE West Texas A&M Technical University in the D-II playoffs?

You must be some kid who sits in his parent's basement with his Playstation, playing Madden football at the easiest level, scoring every time and thinking, "Man, I am awesome at this game! I'm the best!"

In reality, you suck at it. But, nobody has bothered to point it out.

Until now.

Check the schedule of the University of Agriculture and Applied Science's football team.

Nope. They forgot to cherry pick Wyoming again! Damn!

Hey, try Madden on Playstation at a higher level. Go for it! Don't hide at D-II all your life, boy!

You are a troll, just admit it! There were plenty of years during the rivalry games when it wasn't worth it for both teams. It is a tradition that should be continued but farmboys to the south are scared they will lose and don't want to risk it. We all understand, just quit being a poser and get back to the barn....the sheep are having separation anxiety.

Sounds like you know a lot ....... About sheep any way

Until now.

Don't play video games sorry and again look in the mirror when you write the part about not being good at this

Thank you for the logical post. Like Bohl said, they have maxed the thing out down there in Fargo. Add money to that and you've got a done deal.

Now try talk some sense into your fellow fanbase member Jheria - I don't think he leaves the basement much.

Youre right. Neither the patio home or the cabin have a basement :)

At this point no need to play GFU. Nothing to gain. In a few years it might be worth it though

Whether the game is played now or in ten years, the game would be sold out with plenty of hype. Regardless of when the game is played, the rivalry will live on. It's embedded too far within the long-time supporters of both schools. Anyone who says differently is in the minority and just doesn't understand college football traditions. In my opinion, the NDSU national championships are tainted because they didn't play and beat their natural rival in UND. That's what makes it so special for Alabama-Auburn, USC-UCLA, Texas-Oklahoma, Ohio State-Michigan, etc. etc.; during their national championship seasons, they have to go through their arch rival. I have no doubt NDSU would have beat UND this year and the last two, but wouldn't those NC seasons have been more memorable with those rivalry victories as apart of the season? Any true college football fan would tell you yes.
