sioux34
My family and I made it back to GF for homecoming last year. We had not been back since before the flood. I spent most of the 80's and part of the 90's knocking em back at whiteys. We where pretty disappointed with the two meals we had at whiteys during the visit. The food wasn't very good, and the service was terrible. In part, I blame the magnetic flux lines emanating from the horseshoe bar. They installed the bar 90 degrees out of alignment after the flood, and the entire universe has been screwed up ever since. I hope they reopen whiteys, but they need to go back to the old menu and of course, rotate the bar if they want to succeed.

sioux34
Going back to the old menu will not fix what was wrong. I realize that. I thought fixing the terrible service would sort of go without saying. Of course the most important fix is rotating the bar back the right way. Cratter
In case you missed it Olive Garden applied to the city council for a alcohol permit, but city law would need to be changed. It currently says liquor licenses need to be 300 feet apart. The olive garden would be too close to Grizzlys. Interesting to note that a Johnny Carinos (who many says might actually be better than the Olive Garden) actually opened in Bismarck before the Olive Garden did. lomackman
aren't space aliens and texas roadhouse within 300 feet of each other? I was wondering the same thing. I suppose it has something to do with how the 300 feet is measured. Like the City Council will not change the ordinance? Denying Olive Garden a license would get their heads chopped off. Though myself I do not see the attraction of Olive Garden. Never ate at one and never will eat at one.

I'm not saying it's good or bad, but to have an opinion you better have tried it.
Vegas_Sioux
Nah they will just give them a variance almost all the restaurants have them the city uses it as a way to block a block of bars.

I do not need to eat mass produced Italian food to know that it is garbage. If I am going to eat Italian food this is where I will eat. http://www.venetotrattoria.com/ http://www.alventorestaurant.com/ http://www.barlagrassa.com/ http://www.tomasos.com/ http://www.aiellositalianrestaurant.com/dinner.html Do these look anything like mass produced versions of Italian food to you? I am not a chain restaurant eater at all. For a real nice dinner here is my favorite (just ate there last Tuesday night in fact) http://www.rosemarysrestaurant.com/ Simply, I am a snob when it comes to dining.

Cratter
aren't space aliens and texas roadhouse within 300 feet of each other? Its close but I think it passes. There is a lot there available for sale (I believe) so that's the buffer. But in other words I guess that restaurant couldn't have a liquor license. stupid. Where as Olive Garden and Grizzly's would be back to back. lomackman is a troll with a -91 reputation please don't feed him.

One time I even saw Michael, Virgil and McCluskey having dinner there.

Hayduke
Mine was in the wall behind plexiglass when the building went down. Would guess it was hauled out to a dump or buried in a hole on site. I retrieved mine the year before it was shut down. Have it up on my fireplace mantle. People look at it and say, "wtf is that up there for?" lomackman
The new owners could of gotten the Ralph closed they were that inept. Understatement of the year. Norman was in the kitchen yelling at the lady in charge about being out of things. She told him to pay the bills and she could order stuff.
