Sioux-cia Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 From the UNDSID Twitter: *Guest Services is located right behind the Sioux Shop. Great idea!! I hope it's still there tomorrow. I'll text my son and his gf and make sure they sign it tonight. Quote
808287 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I would expect he can get a medical waiver and truly hope and pray he will play again. I'll second that. Godspeed Jesse, my best thoughts and prayers. Quote
siouxforeverbaby Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 What can those of us who can't get to GF do? Isn't there an address posted somewhere on here to send a card to? Forgive me for not looking, but the game is on! Quote

Goon Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) According to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post. Jesse Martin was moved Region's hospitial in St Paul and will have surgery on Monday. Marty was scheduled to have surgery on Friday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Sioux-cia Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Just a little note about Simpson's dad, Craig, which I thought worthy enough for this thread. He and Jamie Sale won Canada's 'Battle of the Blades' last year. The prize money, $100,000, was donated to a spinal cord injury treatment center. http://www.cbc.ca/ca...-finale016.html http://www.youtube.c...h?v=19bQC4RxCgc Quote

Sioux-cia Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 This story mentions that Jesse has lost some feeling and strenght in his arms due to trauma to his spinal cord. With a C2 injury, I would have thought that if there was residual loss to any limb it would have been lower. Let's all hope for a full recovery. http://blogs.denverpost.com/sports/2010/11/09/jesse-martins-surgery-was-fabulous/13935/ Quote

GeauxSioux Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 I hadn't been to The Boardsroom in a while, but found this piece this morning by Pat regarding Martin and hit. It was written last month. Hockey needs to figure this out Quote
star2city Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 http://www.denverpio...TCLID=205032246 A long Denver Post expose' on Jesse Martin's life threatening injury reveals a huge amount of tension between Gwozdecky and Martin's father, which seems practically visible in the above photo. One hit launched DU's Jesse Martin on an extraordinary course http://www.denverpost.com/colleges/ci_19123727 Quote
farce poobah Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 The Denver Post articles are a good read. Not very much homerism, not overly romantic, lot of fact based writing. Quote
iramurphy Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Dr. Mendez is an excellent Neurosurgeon, He was with Merit Care in Fargo for a number of years. He was my neurosurgeon. Doesn't do surgery if not necessary and gets excellent results. Quote
