Does anyone know what is going on with Eli McKamey? Zero points in his first 7 WHL games this year and a minus 5.

Looking at their line charts, it looks like he is playing bottom 6. Has he been struggling quite a bit?

Coming off injury and not up to speed yet. Also very possible he was overhyped coming out of minor hockey and is nowhere near as good as people projected

It’ll be interesting…very underwhelming BCHL season last year too. Obviously super young and hurt. But time will tell with this one.

To be fair, I believe he was the youngest player in that league’s history. He was solid playing against players a few years older than him. Tyson Jost was under a point per game in that league when he was a year older than Eli.

The start of this season is very concerning. Hopefully he is just getting healthy because there are a lot of players his age that are passing him at the moment.

Think at this point in time seems like we'll likely bring in below forwards IMO

  • O'Neill
  • Simpson
  • Williams
  • High end CHL forward (Steiner, etc)
  • Depth forward - Schultz

Mike McMahon mentioned recently that apparently now the only players counting towards the "26 player cap" are players that came in as freshman this year. (so in other words the cap won't really affect "opt-in" teams until 1-2 years down the road once all the grandfathered in players have graduated.) With that being the case I'd guess UND does something like above.

The O’Neill spot will either go to him, Ashton Schultz, or Carter Sanderson. Carter Sanderson has had the best year out of the three and is potentially playing himself onto next year’s team.

Hopefully we do not lose Reschny because next year’s forward group could be elite.

Pretty certain Ashton Schultz is coming in or he is gone.

Would probably say the same with Pilgrim.

Did DeMars go back to high school too?  Didn’t see his name for Penticton the last few games.

I may have asked before, but is he related to Dustin?

I see he scored his first goal tonight for Penticton, so question answered.

Good to see Heil's numbers improving.

Will be interesting to see how Heil does in the World JRs. He seemed to fare pretty well during the the summer showcase when he played.

Would be nice to see him take the net and go on a run with the US team.

It’s not like Kempf has been good this year

I think the Kempf criticisms have been overblown. For a 19 year old playing behind a mediocre team in a tough conference, he hasn't been bad. He's obviously no Trey Augustine though. Will be a big adjustment in net for the Americans this year

He’s actually been good. He’ll play most of the games, all critical games.
