Big A HG
toews with another shootout goal. dam hes good at those I know it's "easier" to score on a shootout than in a regular game, but I think the guy cares about what the team needs so much more than himself when playing during regulation, which leads me to believe that he could score so much more than he does. Maybe I'm way off base, but the kid has so much offensive skill that it amazes me he doesn't produce more, which is a scary thought for a 21 year old. Goon
I dislike the Avs too, but it's remarkable what they've done with pretty much the only addition to the roster being Anderson. Of course you hate the Avs is this a reason why? [Roy and Osgood]
fargosioux
Parise with a goal (#8 on the year and shorthanded) and an assist in tonight's Devils/Ducks game. Parise with a "never give up" effort to get the goal. I was fortunate enough to be at this game. Parise was named #1 star of the game too. It was fun to watch him and Zajac. Parise had a few more great scoring chances too. Alot of Parise jerseys in the crowd, including one guy with a UND Parise jersey.
siouxforeverbaby
For those of you with the NHL Network...Zach and Travis play the Penguins at 6:30 central tonight.....oh yeah, the rest of the Devils might be there too!
siouxforeverbaby
At the start of the 3rd, Zajac and Parise each have an assist and the Devils are leading the Penguins 2-1.....and the announcers tonight can not decide who they love more...Zajac or Parise Edit: 3-1, Parise with the goal and Zajac with an assist. Watched the last half of the game. The commentators nearly cried when Crosby didn't score. "He does everything right but score." Wow. I do everything right on the ice except skate. The Penguins looked lazy, tired, and unengaged in the play. The media was, when they weren't fawning over Sidney Christ, giving every sort of excuse known to man. Maybe they do the same thing with Detroit, well... I'm pretty sure they do. Nevertheless, it disgusts me. The better team tonight won. Sucks to be the commentators but they needed to seriously put their big boy pants on and admit that the Devils simply were better. Oh, and by the way, the play of the game as Fedetenko pushing the puck and Brodeur into the net for the Pens' only goal. Jumping Parise.... Really? Fleury's save was amazing. If you had to give it to your beloved Pens, why not have that the play of the game? Seriously, the Devils won, but you'd never have known it by listening to the sports commentators. I think I'm going to refrain from tuning into Pens games from now on. I'd rather have a relatively unbiasedly called game.

redwing77
If you're going to watch the pens don't watch their homer announcers. I guess it makes sense. I thought, for some reason, that it was neutral announcers since it was on NHL network. Stupid reasoning.

Stupid reasoning. That is what I was thinking, but then I realized that couldn't be true and I was confused. I really don't mind homer announcers for the most part....I just can't stand the ones who have a heart attack everytime certain players touch the puck.....Pierre McQuire is one of my favorite for doing this especially when the Blues play the Blackhawks. He can never decide who he loves more TJ or Jonny. I am fine with them having favorites, but do I really need to hear you have a love fest over them when I am trying to watch the game? I'm in Jersey and just watch 90% of Devs games on TV if I'm not there in person for the home games. We are fortunate to have Doc Emrick call our games. I hate when NBC has to take him away for a game between two teams I don't care about, but the guy calls a great game. He definitely is a fan of the Devils as is the color, Chico Resch, but they call a very even game as far as bias goes. Sometimes I get irritated when they call a score for the opposition, but you have to respect the hockey knowledge of both. I can't believe you can score a goal now by pushing the goalie into the net when he has it under his equipment Parise's goal was juuuuuuuuuuuuust slightly sweeter, no??? LOL
NJDnumber9
When I was on NHL.com this morning watching the highlight video, you could totally tell the homers acted as if only one team was there. LOL Ah, but if you do, it will be the play of the game! I don't know who was calling that game but I don't care if I ever listen to them again. By the way, I heard Jack Edwards is now the commentator for the Boston Bruins. Is that true? If so, it couldn't be a better fit. That guy is the world's biggest Boston homer. You show Jack a picture of any Boston sports team, logo, or sports player and he'll just about cream his shorts. It's hilarious how they say that job is an "elite few" when so many are completely and utterly incompetent.

I wonder.... if NY and BOS were eliminated in sports entirely, would the US still be looked at as being so arrogant in that field? Almost 80% of all sports arrogance (across the board) and hype comes from that neck of the woods. The other 20% is LeBron (temporarily until he signs with NY) and Kobe and the rest of the US Sporting world.

Devils lose to end their road winning streak at 9, and their win streak at 8. EDIT: Looks like they took Zajac's assist away.
