redwing77 Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Former Sioux last night.... Jason Blake: Not sure if he got injured before the game or something, but he did not play in this game. NHL Network's show "NHL On the Fly" did a segment on the Maple Leafs and Ron Wilson. The reason why Jason Blake wasn't due to injury. He's a healthy scratch. They made a big deal over his benching, labelling it as an accountability move. Apparently the NHL Network analysts feel that Ron Wilson thought Jason wasn't holding his end of the bargain well enough and Ron Wilson decided to send Blake a message. They used last year as an example. Blake shot the puck over 300 times last season and only scored 15 goals. I didn't really understand how last year could really make a difference as to why he'd be benched this year, but that's what they were talking about. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Chris Porter sent to Peoria. http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=477464 Porter, 24, had a goal and an assist in five games. He plays a responsible defensive game and seemed to fit in the lineup. However, the Blues had extra forwards and opted to send Porter down for additional seasoning. The team sees Porter as having NHL potential, so the plan is to get him into action at Peoria. Quote

redwing77 Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I'm watching the chicago minnesota tilt and seriously... how is Huet a #1 goaltender? he sucks. I like Khabibulin's chances better. Huet also uses stand up... worked well on Minnesota's second goal. Chicago is down two and they're already showing signs of folding. Quote

Hey Redwing77 notice that the Wild have scored more than three goals and are still playing offense? IMHO the Bulin wall is way better than Huet. Quote

AZSIOUX Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Toews is off to a tough start....I never would have predicted this start for the Wild. he is off to a slower start with 5 assists in 9 games and hes getting a little the heat from the fans. he will snap out of it. not 1 goal is brutal for him in this early season. im sure the fans will start to say that wearing the C is maybe a bit much at his age. who knows. im sure he will break out of the goal slump soon! hopefully......
