BigGreyAnt41
Wonder why they don't list Walski as a goalie for UND? They list goalies who have played this season.

Blackheart
i don't wanna hear how bad the Gofs are...both teams will be up for this, even if UND is not a major rival for UMtc... The Sioux won the games they should have won to get where they are but the Gofs playing at home are always tough...hoping for a split, pretty tough to sweep at Mariucci, much less 2 yrs in a row...see you there on Friday! Goon
-- Minnesota freshman Alex Kangas has started four straight games in net, but Lucia said junior Jeff Frazee could start sometime this weekend. Bring it on.
DAR
I would much prefer the Frazzeled one in net as compared to Kangas.

siouxguyinstpaul
I'll give you that, its pretty damn funny. But I still hope he gets a start. so do I - but highly unlikely
siouxguyinstpaul
Well - did not make it to the Sioux practice last night (due to the traffic problems of biblical proportions here in metropoilitan Minnesota) but did get to the "gopher Chat" at Stub and Herbs. No coaches made it over but got to listen to some good stories from Wooger, Mazucko (or something like that) Glenn Sonnmor and a couple of x-gophers including Paul Broton. The theme was pretty good and they threw in a North Dakota flare with stories of trips to GF and how big the rivalry is. The atmosphere around here is nothing like I have witnessed before. It appears as if this whole town of 2.8 million is convinced that the Sioux will sweep this weekend as the gophs are so bad this year. When leaving, I went up to thank Frank and Wooger for doing this town forum type thing as I know it takes alot of work and is something that they don't normaly do. Frank asked me how I think the series will turn out (with a very noticable concerned look on his face) I told him that I think it will be a split as I didn't have the heart to say what I really think will happen. He said " boy I sure hope so as this team is really down and sure needs that" I tried to make him feel better with the backs against the wall stuff - last year for the Sioux and this year with his team - don't know how he took that though. BTW - We are by no means buddies (as I truely hate the way he calls the games) and I only called him Frank because I don't remmember how to spell his last name. I'm not used to all the lack of arrogance witnessed aound here this week - but I'm sure it will be back soon enough as it is so deep seated and simply searching for some kind of outlet. Not this weekend though.
Oxbow6
UND didn't play well and UM did in Dec. at the Ralph. UND is hot but UM is at home. Could go on and on but this weekend with these 2 teams always comes down to effort and who wants it more than skill. Would love a sweep, but I think split is the realistic call here. Swifts on Sat. give UND beatdown win to earn split.
siouxguyinstpaul
well - the arrogance may be temporarily absent - but the stupidity never will be from GPL Blackheart wrote: hoop wrote: I hope the area stores brought in enough molson and copenhagen for the hillbilly's this weekend They should play the caddyshack gopher clip at Mariucci from now on-A drunken half retarded toothless hick gets outsmarted by a crafty gopher-sounds like the correct gophers sue comparison to me Say what you want about hillbillys but don't ever disrespect Molson. This is what happens if you do it at the Nazi palace. I take back every relatively nice thing I said earlier. I hate the Gophs and all the ignorant dumb-azzes that support them. I hope we rip their throats out this weekend. Right in front of their hometown, insult spewing, elitest eyes. Boy - that didn't take long - did it. buckysieve
Everybody I know here has no expectations for even a slightly favorable Goph outcome this weekend and lack of any type of enthusiasm is the result. Typical metropolitan minnesota fans that only support winners. Looks like someone has a short memory about the half empty Ralph during the early-mid nineties........ Oh wait, it's siouxguyinstpaul, this is par for the course for him.
Chuck Schwartz
Marto in, LaPoint out. Way to use the olympic ice to your advantage sitting one of your most offensive defensemen.
Fetch
Marto has proved to be as offensive as Lapointe & is a lot faster I have a feeling the Goophers are hiding in the weeds - leading up to this series - It's like they can redeem their entire crappy season if the beat us, at this stage of the yr. I hope we play well enough to win - it is still to early to peak (although there has not really been any signs of us peaking)

And there is no way Marto is as offensive as LaPoint, thats just plain silly. But, I also don't think it's Marto who should be sitting. If your source is correct, that would suprise alitte since Marto didn't play last weekend. That being said I do like Marto's speed on big ice.
