Wow! That's why i love playoff football.

A good punt returner is not always the fastest or the stud RB. Hence, Devin Hester or Ted Ginn of the NFL. Kick returner types have a ball skill and comfort level of playing in space and being able to see the field and ensuing running lanes.

I'm not saying he is a bad coach. I've met him and spoken to him on a few occasions. He is very energetic and likeable and in my opinion a good coach. But all coaches have to recognize when minor adjustments are needed. And obvious my, the players need to take special teams more serious and make plays in the heat of battle.

I said after the Stony Brook game that the punt block scheme needed fixing but many thought it was just a matter of our player forgetting or just missing his block. Proof is in the pudding. Our up guys don't know who to block and don't take a step forward to engage the rusher trying to block our punt. The kid on Sat came right up the A gap basically untouched to get the block.

When a team is on the ropes facing a knockout.. The mentality is, all we need is one break or bounce or call to go our way. In most playoff games, if you have a kick blocked, you will lose. In contrast, if you score on a special teams play, you will usually win.

If reported is true. A few miles around the track. As in 10 miles since Josh had that much energy to burn after a game altitude. And a game suspension. But I don't think he should be kicked off the team or school. Those punishments should be reserved for those that are confirmed to have committed a felony (i.e., sexual assault, grand larceny, DUI resulting in injury or death, assault resulting in hospital stay of the victim, hate crimes) Josh was just drunk and disorderly in comparison.

I'm told it was during a team meeting so I think it was healthy dialogue with coaches and players. No student athletes were involved in the incidents.

Some female students went viral by posting the use of a disparaging term directed toward another African American female student in Snapchat, while a few other females posted pics of themselves in black face. The school and local law enforcement are investigating. The staff is gathering facts and thus far have begun taking appropriate actions.

I hear bubba has addressed the team regarding the racist nonsense occuring on campus this week. The players are focused and united under Bubba. That's leadership.

Coaching is fluid in the sense that the fiery coaches have to be cautious of alienating players that are not accustomed to that style of coaching or upbringing. I loved a coach that was willing to fight you during the week at practice but was your biggest fan come game day. Tough love was motivation for me. I also feel players should be self motivated. If you are waiting for your coach to get the juice flowing, football is not your sport. Bubba is stoic and subdued but I know a fire burns within or he would not be a head coach.

Somone needs to set the score board to reflect 4th quarter at the opening kickoff so the offense can start like they finish. They look like a top 10 offense late in games. And OT!

Tyus was in great position all day and had a nice acrobatic pick in his mitts sans an equally good play by the WR. Harris with back to back pick six games. Reyes doing what he does: causing havoc and pick six to his resume. Hunt showing a lot of athletic ability and solid cover skills. Is it too early to say the secondary has improved leaps and bounds?

Big Sky television online is horrible.

I saw Saban blasting the student body for leaving early. I guess the only way to resolve the issue nationally is to give students college credits for attending school sanctioned sporting events sober. I'm sure many could use the extra credit after sleeping through or missing classes altogether.

In think geography has more to do with student attendance. Football is life down south. Up north? Not so much. There is very little student support at tailgate parties.

Isn't Mercer from Texas? Clive is from Florida by way of Arizona. Tyus is from Texas. We have kids from outside of the Midwest...even from California. P

From what I've been told, the players and recruits actually enjoy Grand Forks off the field so being homesick is not a problem. Most commmit immediately during visits for a variety of reasons. And winning cures most ailments no matter where you are. Many parents from the southern tier that care about their sons and daughters future's feel good about UND as a place to get an education. With streaming of games online, it makes it easier to be far from home. The Dakotas are attractive to kids who love football.

Everyone knows the best players in the country come from down south. Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, etc. Just sayin. Craig James former SMU Mustang and ESPN commentator was half of the Pony Express with Eric Dickerson. White chocolate with some speed. Bolant could be a nice wrinkle a few times a game especially in the kicking game.

On a side note: the Rambo kid is a speed merchant. His older brother plays for the Buffalo Bills. Need to keep a defensive eye on him when he is on the field.

Plus the OT experience would have been good for our players and coaches.. Win or lose. l honestly think we beat them in OT. It was a "good loss." Just my opinion. I understand Bubba trying to win now though...most coaches would do the same.

Being tied with an FBS opponent on the road at the end of regulation against a team that was a 21 point favorite going in. I like my chances in OT. They hadn't beat us in 4 quaters. I told my wife sitting in Starbucks watching the game online.. Quietly. Kick the extra point Bubba.. Pressure is all Bowling Green. Jink's comments validated the administration is feeling the heat for only winning by 1. On to USD and a win.

This is not an attack or me calling Bubba out for going for 2. I understand why he went for it. But Jink's attitude and comments post game is the reason why I wished we would kicked the extra point and sent it to OT. We were playing with free money and they would have panicked and !@#$ their pants. We had just scored and had momentum going into OT and our defense was locked in.
