College football recruiting is complicated and always will be. Coaches are looking for production, while parents and recruits are looking for a whole lot more than production on Saturdays. Coaches recruit multiple players and kids consider as many schools that have interest in their ability. If a job offers you x and another job offers you y, with a corner office and benefits, most people will tell offer x, thanks but no thanks. Recruits and parents are committed to the best all around opportunity. Coaches are focused on Saturday afternoon stats.

We get upset over losing recruits and games. Me included, but there are much bigger things in life to be concerned with. Like life itself.

I know I might slammed for this. But, Portland State had a kid pass away following surgery to have tonsils removed. 20 year old kid who started 10 games last season. Kinda puts life and sports in perspective.

Agreed. Hence the 'recruits coming' in which adds depth. Tucker was a red shirt. I think we will be ok.

I t think the DB group from 2015 is ready to hold it down and ball out in 2016. Carter, Reyes, Harris and Sills played great down the stretch with Palmborg added me season...and the recruits coming in..the backend of the defense will be sold.

I am looking forward to watching UND football take the next step in the process next year. Hopefully, some of the players are watching this game and envisioning themselves playing in the championship game and doing what it takes to get there.

I don't disagree but good teams make lesser teams look bad. NDSU got off the bus expecting to win, while Jacksonville State wasn't sure. There is a difference. It's more mental than physical.

Time to give credit where credit is due. They play big boy football in Fargo. Hopefully, UND will get there one day.

i know exactly the point he was trying to make. Everyone would love to have Michael Jordan or Kobe in his prime or Tom Brady. I have more admiration for coaches that are willing to take a marginal player and make them better. To Cratter's point, thats why some college coaches on want stacked rosters like Nick Saban or Urban Meyer.

nothing on this board shocks me. But if u access a dictionary, the word coach is an action verb. Good players become great with coaching. Not many athletes fall out of bed with the label of great. Even pros need good coaching.

Good coaching creates better players. And yes, winning Big Sky is a tall task. You win that, winning a Natty will be easier.

Dude, even a broken clock is right twice a day. Don't come on here acting all prophetic. A 6 win yeam should not be in the playoffs. Period. We left it to chance by not winning 8 or 9. But 6 wins??? GTFOH

Ratelle is a monster, but on too many occassions we let other teams isolate our linebackers in coverage. Some plays we got lucky, some plays we didnt. We shouldnt put our inside or outside linebackers in that position, without a blitz call to back them up.

Players do whats emphasized in practice. I suspect after the Montana game...deep pass coverage was emphasized. Now, we need to focus on positioning and getting take aways.

If we beat Idaho State or manage clock better at Weber State we are high fiving playoffs right now.

UND will not be a secret next year...they have spent the past three weeks handing out beat downs. They will have a chance to show they are here to stay in the first 3 games in 2016. Those games will be huge!

i agree the secondary can and will be better, gotta coach em up. Being a DB is tough, gotta play with attitude and confidence.
