For the love of God, I hope so.

Studs is in the lineup. He may be less than 100% but I think the coaches owe it to him to let him start the rest of the way if he's able to go. Its his last few weeks in a UND uniform. He's earned the right.

I'll never understand why someone would post on a fan board of a team in which they have no ties or rooting interest. But to be registered on no less than 10 current and former fcs message boards seems a bit excessive IMO. Is this normal?

to further compound the bad call of a jet sweep action, we ran the ball with JJ to the same side of the sweep action. Not sure why we would not send motion one way to change the strength call of the defense which in many cases shifts the d line angle of attack to the play side; then get a seal or influence block and run backside for an easier chance to pick up the needed two yards.

We had a blocked FG against Stony Brook, Richmond and again today. You get a kick blocked, more often than not, you will lose the game.
-
They had a 5'4" 140 RB running up the gut against us. He should be in concussion protocol after one carry. I would put this one on the defense.
-
The blocked FG and long TD passes also contributed to our demise today.

Offense sells tickets, but defense wins games. Its possible to win a game 3-0. I agree more efficiency of 3rd down will help. But, injuries or not, giving up 35-40 per points per game is simply not good football...
-
Agreed. I don't think anyone is going to abandon ship because we do still care. I just hope the players (and coaches) don't let apathy take over.

That's hilarious! I needed a good laugh at watching the past couple of games. I think we all get emotionally invested, which is good. But, its frustrating to see our seniors going out like this.
-
I was being politically correct by referring to them as choir boys. I know there are some kids on this team that need an attitude adjustment also. I hear about the off the field stuff too.
-
Zimmerman is the real deal. Keaton has been a solid play making gamer and great leader for us, but the future at QB has arrived early, like diamond in the rough. When Keaton passes the torch, the QB position will be in good hands. Our entire secondary plays like hot garbage. We give opposing QBs confidence on the road and at home. No debating Rudolph's play calling is suspect but if you tell any OC we need you to score 40 points for us to win because we can't stop anybody, that's a lot to ask, at any level. As for Bubba, I won't comment on him because his apologist will come for me, but the makeup of a good team reflects the attitude and approach of it's coaches. We need more fight in our plays and more fight in our coach. We have a bunch of choir boys playing football who unfortunately have mental lapses when it matters most during games. That crap needs to stop. We need some kids that feel like football is all they have and will lay it all on the line. Good effort today, but we gotta win these kind of games, especially at home.

I have no doubt about his passion for football. He would not be a head coach at the D1 level were he not passionate.
-
You are correct I've never seen Bubba, in person, in the locker room following a W.
-
Yes, I can assure you the old school moniker fits me accurately (old school mentality and age (sadly). But I also feel just like in business, you gotta be willing to step out of your comfort zone and try different ways to motivate. Not saying Bubba can't motivate, but nothing wrong with pushing some different buttons.

NDSU kids as does many others that we've faced look bigger, stronger, faster, etc. Maybe we need to copy the NDSU S & C program.
-
you know its been a bad year when we can say our D only gave up 38 and its actually a good thing. ouch.
-
In addition to strength and conditioning. UND needs to find the $$$ for a nutrition program. Many D1 schools provide protein shakes, and other food in the athletic facility year round for their players to attain and maintain weight. Also, a point to note is, UND requires and pressures kids to stay in town for most of the summer. I say let the kids go home, get some home cooking in them and set measurable strength and conditioning goals that they will be tested on in July when they return. Many kids stay in town working full-time jobs just to pay rent which doesn't give them much time to workout and develop their bodies.

Bubba brings energy? I like and respect Bubba but he always looks like he's in pain when the camera pans to him on the sideline. I know there are quiet leaders, but I want to see a coach chest bumping his kids after a good play...talking junk to a ref in defense of his players; young kids love that stuff. When you see a coach dancing the locker room or leading the cheers after a big win, that's connecting with the players. Bubba is always buttoned down and stoic. Let your hair down sometimes, Bubba.

I want to address something a poster said about Heidelbaugh being ruined. A coach's job is not only to recruit and evaluate talent, but its required to develop it. I see many positions where it appears players have regressed. I don't know if ruined is the right term, but when you bring in good multi-sport athletes, their ability should improve over the years under college coaching. Most of these guys played both ways in high school, so if a kid is not excelling on offense, try him on defense and vice versa. Tanner showed some nice wheels tracking down that receiver yesterday during that long run up the side line....I'd like to see him the ball in his hands.

its time for beer, food and more beer. Good evening all.

I hope we win one more game this season. Coaches need to do better. Players need to do better.
-
no need to get JJ hurt in a blowout. but he should get more touches next week.

41-10 Zimmerman moving the offense down the field. In a lost cause but he looks good. His throws have purpose and he gets it within reach of his receivers. #33 is earning his post game meal too.
