  1. Put a Wes Walker type package in for GBaby on offense just to mix it up. He has some wheels. He can bust a 30 or 40 yard catch and run on a screen or crossing route.
  2. If it makes you feel better to blame one guy on one play for losing the game...knock yourself out buddy. I doubt very seriously a player forgets to block his man when he is out there to be a part of the punt protection. That's hilarious.
  3. I coach currently...so I know very well schemes have changed. They managed to block the punt; scoop and score. So I would say we need to adjust before Saturday to avoid happening again this season.
  4. If UND protection blocks out versus protecting inside gap which is shortest distance to kicker....there is more to the story than Labat missing a block. Can't go back and redo it now. Hope we get all corrections made this week. Kicking game can win or lose games. It is what It is.
  5. Not blaming the punter. The SB alignment seemed like guys were unaccounted for because we were not lines up directly in front of the guy that blocked the punt. On kick teams...most are taught to block inside gap. The guy that blocked it didn't have to cross anyone's face to get to punter. He had a clear path.
  6. That's when the punter needs to call time out or have a max protect call to pull everyone in before the snap. Maybe he thought he could get kick off in time. Either way.. I don't think it will happen again this season. We learn from our experiences. Tough to see Clive get injured giving 100%.
  7. The CBs are usually told where to line up after getting the call from the safety. Hope we get it worked out this week or it might get out of hand quickly. No more day by day. The time is now.
  8. They may have already circled that game as a loss. The OSU game is just a money grab and recruiting tool for them. I am sure they see our game as week 1 and a guaranteed win. We have to be on top of our game this week. I'm more concerned about our emotional level this week.
  9. Making corners play off makes it look like they don't have the ability to cover anyone. Get up in the receivers face. If he goes to hit hotdog stand...you go with him. If he goes to get a cup a water, you go too. We also need more corners on the field in nickle instead of safeties. In my opinion. Playing in the secondary is tough but scheme can make it more difficult than it should be. I have never liked the bail technique.
  10. Bubba needs to practice walking corners up. Making them play 10 yards off and conceding yards underneath gives the QB clean site lines and confidence to throw wherever he wants. Soft zone defense is not very effective in my opinion. Press under cover 1 or 2.
  11. I didn't get to watch much of the game so I have to be careful with my opinion. But what didn't see was a nastiness and kick ass and take names from UND that will be needed to have a good year. The boys played hard but this game reminded me of Weber State from last year. Someone needs light a fire in practice this week that turns into a blaze. Getting a punt block signals lack of focus. You have to win the kicking game and eliminate turnovers on the road. Time to get serious about refusing to lose while expecting to win.
  12. Guys waived at this point have a good chance to be signed to practice squad or resigned after week one because salary won't be guaranteed. Will still has a shot to play in NFL. Fingers crossed.
  13. If that's your position.... All art form is mediocre. I get it..you don't like hop hop ; no concerns there. Hip hop probably doesn't like you either. Just change the channel. Freedom to choose.
  14. I'm feeling the White Stripes....kinda goes with our Adidas gear. In all honesty...all suggestions presented thus far would make for a nice compilation during pregame and 3rd downs at the Alerus Center. We have a multicultural and multinational team. Its about getting our Hawks fired up!
  15. Well seeing that hip hop is a multi-billion dollar industry consumed the world wide by people from all walks of life, I would beg to differ. But there is some that is absolute garbage. But same can be said for rock, country and even my favorite, jazz. But hop hop made feel like bringing the heat to an opposing player when I played defense. That's the theme of this thread. 3rd down music to get the crowd and players fired up and rowdy.
  16. Anything Eminem is a banger. Nice choice.
  17. In my late 40a but this still gets me ready to play or face a day in the office. Corporate America is a battlefield sometimes. Stay ready. #fighting hawks
  18. Might be a little too urban for Grand Forks but.. It fits the game atmosphere that I loved to play in.
  19. We Ready is a hype song for a football game.
  20. ....says the NDSU fan that is basically admitting guilt. Are you saying NDSU is the only school in the MVFC?
  21. Maybe Bill Billicheck sent him to scout potential draft picks. Or a USD opponent paid for books to get some Intel...they say, if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying.
  22. Congrats on the new house Teeder!! Looking forward to having you back on the sidelines with watchful eyes. Who else lives in the GF area??? I felt a sudden tightness in my chest after reading that you'll be out a few days. You have spoiled us!! I might need to make a trip up tomorrow!
  23. Setup a PayPal account Reeder.
