In theory, we can outbid Montana with private funds. But yes, Montana will bid high. With us in the picture, these other schools are not real excited about the open bid process.

I wonder if we are giving T - Steps enough credit this year with the improved secondary play?
-
I am not as optimistic. 2 average defenses just gave us a lot of trouble offensively. Studsrud is day to day and the Bears didn't like the beating behind the wood shed last year. Plus, the Bears are passing effectively and if we don't kick out of bounds they probably run it back. They need to win out to be relevant. I hope our guys know we need a really good game to win this week.

Not Brady, but Norberg has had some good runs and opportunities. Someone with high authority said Weber didn't give us a sniff with that play all game. That's why we didn't run it. I still would of liked to see it tried 1 time........

Likely - I really really like play-off hockey, NCAA, if UND is playing. Sudden Death, everything on the line -
-
Sorry, I love UND, but hockey actually bores me sometimes. Serious, what can happen that is exciting?? 1)score 2)check 3)save 4)almost score? The rules are such that they can't fight, just act like tough guys. So I really think this argument is personal preference. Football has so many more roller coaster moments in a game or even a play, like running into the endzone.....then fumbling (Oliveira). Like getting a pass intercepted, then saved by penalty, or Cal Poly driving and Hunt picks them off (didn't see that coming) Stanley's mega-stiff arm on the sideline running into endzone, literally a combination of 50 things can go right or wrong any play. Plus, each game in college football is huge.... You can't go get swept in a weekend series and have that mean nothing as far as your play-off run. and I am not a football only, even adopted a Force Player this year and trying not to 'Force' UND on him too much. I did bring 6 Force players to UND/Bemidji, they were in Awe!!
-
I think they rotate until someone gets a 'hot hand'. I am 50/50 on Keaton being able to play on Saturday. Regardless, he won't take many reps in practice this week.
-
Demun isn't close to Clive, someone asked earlier. We might have to accept that our O-line can't be dominate against average talent with 8 and 9 in the box. Cal Poly is a 'read' defense and that is great for us. Attacking defenses give us fits!! We need an adjustment. Paging Rudy---- One more point, our players said Weber St. was legit, talented and well coached.
-
It can, I lived it before, Martey Jenkins was his name. Clive was close to that because he could get himself open on almost any play. Then, 3rd down conversions increase, the field is stretched, can't put 8 in the box without giving up a shitburger or 2 over the top for TDs.

1986 Bison vrs. Coyotes in the National Championship game, DII days. The NCAA didn't like this very much as the NCC ended up with 2 conference teams in close proximity to each other in a National Championship game in Alabama. Today, the FCS doesn't care if teams from the same conference play in the final, NDSU vrs. Ill. St., they seemed more focused on close proximity games. It will be interesting if the 3 or 4 Dakota teams get in........will they all play for 1 spot in a region??? I wouldn't bet against it.

I hope the NCAA at least opened the envelope to see we were serious last year. Knowing our bid it would be foolish to line up UND vs. SDSU in round 1, both with high bids and have another match-up of 2 teams with minimal bids. If it's all about money for them, then do your homework NCAA.

We could be in trouble today-
-
So I guess we don't plan on rushing the QB today-

"We will play much better defensively in two weeks at NAU." (M. Kramer) Well, that didn't happen. 52-7 NAU I will be shocked if we are not in the 40's, even 50 is possible in this one. 48 - 13 good guys

Amazingly, we didn't beat Montana St. by more. After the game I said Montana State is going nowhere this year, they didn't pass the eye test. The direction we went and the direction Montana State went after the game with us couldn't be more different.

Williams and Magnum shook Harris's confidence last year. Williams is back so that is a key match up. Harris has something to prove. I think Schmitty will have a wrinkle or two considering the late meltdown last year and no nickle package. Safety play was terrible last year, no Reyes, no Arnell, we had Sweed and Jawon.....and after the game Jawon found a new home at OLB, so figure that one out on your own. It would be great to have Reyes, but don't panic if we don't.
