Not a shocker at all...look at what's happened in the last year or so to "the home team" --weekend newscasts go away in favor of a Wday/z "regional" newscast (remember that theme). --this year, they dump a local 5 o'clock newscast in favor of carrying a "shared" Wday/z "regional" newscast. AGAIN the "home team" takes it up the you know what in favor of the "regional" approach. --Now the 6 and 10 are still "local" (with the same taped fargo weather they've always had) BUT they've lost their 30+ year veteran sports anchor...now it's decision time...do you hire another veteran sports guy and keep huddling as the "home team" OR does 'Day take advantage and say "We'll now do a REGIONAL SPORTS SUPERCAST (or whatever they want to call it) where we keep a sports guy in GF but the anchoring is done from Fargo. (Much like KVLY has always done with highlights gathered from all over the state but done as 1 show) Done and done. --PREDICTION - this will be the next step in losing local TV in GF in favor of the "regional" newscast approach from Fargo. Say goodbye to TerryD too...he'll be going away sooner than you think. That's why they made a big deal about his "39th Anniversary" last year. They knew he probably wouldn't hang around for 40. Why would you when they create a new 30 minute show for you to do on Sunday mornings with few resources and no one watching. (btw you ARE old school if you remember the name as the AURORA - I actually have an old t-shirt with that name on it from when the event center was first approved so I have no problem with complainers but the banners should stay and the "garbage bags" on the upper roof are actually sound baffles that (theoretically) help the acoustics in the Al. I actually agree the PA sounds terrible so again, that direct letter or complaint to the ALERUS, would probably go farther. good luck!

Exactly! It is about the story - and one that's as old as show business itself! It's a classic Carny and Rube story you don't get...(and that's whats MOST funny!) Imagine a sports network trying to CONSTANTLY stay relevant and make people tune in to a marginal "FAN" show because of the ridiculous amounts of money they make - but only if they can put "asses in the seats" so to speak...you would need some kind of gimmick every week and constantly going back to the major college FB powers week after week, year after year, gets stale...hmmm...how do we freshen up the act? I know (some espn wonk says) WE TAKE THE CARNIVAL to smaller towns and venues! Sure they aren't as important in the world of MAJOR college football but going there is a novelty factor. Answer is he had a chance but blew it - don't make him a bad person. I still like Chris. I just know he's not a Division 1 football coach and thats okay. NDSU under Bob Babich was a disaster....embarrasingly tanking in the world of D2 football but lo and behold SU decides to move up and he got "promoted":-) to the NFL so they hired a new coach to take them through the transition and beyond. Bohl lost to UND (again!) and took his lumps but he had the appropriate time to build his vision so when they got past the 5 year bs and into full FCS they were ready to roll! Mussman inherited a solid D2 program ready for the transition and (frankly) didn't know what the hell he got himself into or where he was going so he f*cked up our transition with quick fixes, bad overall schemes and no discipline - and it ended up f*cking him in the end. Now this year we have to start at square 1 to build a real FCS program WITH an FCS ready coach. I'm fine with it but it IS going to take some time..

Of course it was a bit! Listen to the "news guy" laugh in the background - it was totally a tongue in cheek bit. Giveaway was him saying they haven't beaten an FCS opponent in "months and months" Almost as funny is how much it's irritating the BISOnATION:-) They try to act like they're big-time but all the real big time schools think they're a joke.
