Graceful exit and then the real show begins... -- Omaha almost scored shorthanded seconds after Deans' departure and the UND PP -- Jutting (very able DI coach) also enflamed Blais' fire BUT had the sense to call a timeout to refocus the team -- Once UNO got the momentum they never let it go...UND wouldn't pull Saunders in favor of a totally inexperienced freshman but at that point, why not? What really did they have to lose? -- The PP is absolutely embarrassing and lame. The last PP the players just skated around and played dump and chase and didn't seem to care at all...Hak had his usual "worried" look but why didn't he ever call a timeout and LIGHT THEM UP! No...and of course we got the grim look and calm BUT controlled "we didn't get it done" postgame interview for the XXth time. LAME! Hammer doesn't seem to get that same break - in fact a good part of this entire thread bitches about him making very small mistakes too. My point is if you're going to SH*T (notice how I brought it back to the original post there ) all over Hammer for the smallest of things because these guys are representing the "best, most storied college hockey program in the US" - you also have to acknowledge the person some consider the TV GOD of UND Hockey also isn't perfect - and never was and made WWAAAYYYY TOO MANY bad pun/old TV references that you all forget...so put that in your pipe and smoke it! The OTHER POINT is Sweeney is a UND media figure now in THE PAST and will never return as long as Midco has the contract- period. He had a shot and they decided to go in a different direction - end of story! Holy crap - anyone ever watch UND Sports Extra or the Hakstol show during the week? If not, I suggest you look them up. Hammer does a TON of work to help produce 2 quality 30 minute sports shows a week before he ever begins prepping for the upcoming live broadcasts - and that's not easy.
