Sounds like she was kind of disturbed by the latest field maneuvers of the KAISER and took solice in the pigskin antics of her favorite gridiron team - THE NODAKS with their leather helmets and all!:-p Ag school fans are already making the signs...GO NODICKS! Which I guess would be appropriate for our womens' teams but not for the men. The only positive out of that situation is we all know who the biggest DICKS are in the sports world and they go to the ag school down south to study whatever they teach down there and I couldn't give 2 sh*ts what that is! Here's a thought...instead of pissing on everything Fighting Hawk that might come out from whatever source what if there's a concerted effort to say...okay...this is going to be the name so lets make the logo as badass as possible (without THAT logo floating around now on the internets or any other designs with feathers that will be bitched and ditched - there is NO CHANCE they will be the logo selected!) NO ONE likes this process but face facts....Fighting Hawks will most likely be the name. NOW IS YOUR CHANCE to make something out of literally nothing and come up with something that might make us say...it's not the old logo but I LIKE IT! I'm sure UND would be happy to drop another 100 G's on ANOTHER CONSULTANT who would come up with 'professional' designs but look what a ND artist did with the last logo....there IS inspiration out there - WE JUST NEED TO TAP INTO IT! I updated my info about a month ago and since then I've been spammed about every Alumni event/fundraising opportunity happening in the lower 48 so I know I will probably get info on the vote soon...at least they've confirmed contact:-) Channel your inner 4th grader to find the problem with NODAKS...a-holes on the bison board have already confirmed this...replace the "A" with an "I" then go back to the old picture a few posts above of the bb players in the Nodak jerseys and their very short, tight basketball shorts....uuugggghhhhh! That would be MEME heaven for those idiots from lowest-common-denominator U! Fighting Hawks might be generic right now but at least it gives us a tie to the past and something to work with for the future! HELL yeah! Wife and I went there last wednesday...the decor is minimalist and weak - concrete floors, simple booths and a micro-font menu nailed 10 feet overhead but the sandwich? AWESOME! Simple Chicken Junction with onions and mushrooms. I snarfed a footlong and wanted to take one to go but they were busy - REAL busy with college people and a mix of older locals. Bottom line the food was GREAT! Spread the word and go there - this is the opposite of SweetoBurrito - the food is actually GOOD!

Absolutely true! The heraldo actually had a picture of a bunch of LARP'ers staging a medieval battle in the park tagged as "rally supporters" before somebody pointed it out to them. (Okay it was me!) It was easy to mistake a group that actually had people SHOW UP than wonder why 6 people were lingering under a tent in attendance for a major "show of support"! This rally was a joke and a complete waste of time and money for the idiots that contributed...now Kelley has MORE AMMO to say the "North Dakota" crowd has no real support. I say GOOD!

I have a great story about Rastislav "SPARKY" Spirko...when UND was heading to the Frozen Four back in his day he did an interview with a TV station. The reporter asked the usual question about how excited the team was to be going to be NC and how hard they'd have to work. Sparky replied (on videotape) "We're going to skate our balls off!" A nearby teammate immediately started snickering....obviously this was something he heard in the locker room and wasn't mean't for public consumption but THERE IT WAS on the miracle of videotape! Hilarious! It never made the air but did make the rounds behinds the scenes at TV stations...HEY media people need to laugh too!:-)

Oh yes I forgot you guys are "the METRO" when it comes to local TV coverage Thanks for making Williston look like ND's newest crime-free vacation paradise though - it's about time the eastern ND took one for west! PS - I recently went to a weird part of West Fargo that is far west and north. It had a rust covered agricutural plant and a rusty crappy watertower that says "Riverside" (or something like that) and trailers and run down businesses in total urban decay...do you claim that eyesore at part of Mighty Metro Fargo??? IF so - you can have it.....uugghhh!

Travis was a totally down to earth guy but such a KEY part of the HEART and SOUL of that 2001 Defensive corps that led UND to the NC. He and Eric Schmidt were TOTAL ANIMALS on that Bubba-led defense! I was there and had the privilege of seeing ALL it all - from game 1 to Bubba hugging him in congratulations on the field in Florence right in front of me while my camera rolled... RIP Travis Thanks for the memories! I remember them all.

my "SNAP" moment came about a month ago when a GF fishwrap reporterette....I'll call her A.B. put out a call for "FIGHTING SIOUX FANS SHOW YOUR PRIDE!" - essentially a "send in your pics" and tell us your story of why you're so "proud" of the old name. Talk about ripping a bandaid off an old wound - JUST to sell papers and irritate people while the new nickname search is going on. I was furious! I sent an email calling her on it - sincerely asking how this crap was really a "journalistic" endeavor? No reply (shocker) but the actual article was pretty lame and went nowhere afterwards...SOMEONE had a slightly guilty conscience of putting out this slop instead of being a real professional journalist and digging into all sides. I'm hoping you're reading this A.B....you're better than that!!
