I think we all expected the next Craig Bohl. Someone from and FBS school that was on their way up. In hindsight, I think it would be fair to say that NDSU got Bohl because he had some off the field issues at Nebraska that made him have to take a step back on his way up the chain. Seeing Bohl leave NDSU for Wyoming only makes it more obvious that getting an FBS assistant to take an FCS head coaching position is a long shot. At best, it would be a lateral move for them, and that is only if they came from a weak FBS school. I feel we have a solid group of coaches in place so far. They will provide UND with the experience and discipline the program needs. If I were a recruit and wanted to play early, these guys are the type of coaches I would want in place - coaches whose experience will identify what a kid needs to do to be ready to play.

I like Bubba Ball B - fense!

At this point, Faison has two options. Pull a rabbit out of his hat and hire someone we didn't know about, or look like a clown compared to GT. I didn't think option two was possible, but I think tha is what we are going to get.

Gfhockey = bubba

I would like to see a coach come in who can get young talent on the field quickly. I am tired of hearing about the good group of young LBs, hearing that J Butler is stud, etc, and then hearing they don't understand their assignments and roles in the defense well enough to be playing yet. So the biggest priority in my opinion would be getting a defense in place that is based on the strengths and talents of the players on the roster, and is implemented in a way that doesn't keep good players off the field.

I originally thought there was no way Pflugrad would consider being an OC at UND, but with him not even being considered for the HC position at UND or Weber, what are the chances that he might consider this?
-
4 at best. I can live with Bubba or DeBoer, but can't believe there wasn't another candidate that at least warranted a 3rd interview. also, with it coming down to Bubba and DeBoer, why is this taking so long? One of these two should have been on board last week and could probably have prevented Daryl brown from leaving.

Does anyone thing gfhockey migh be Bubba. He has been awfully positive lately.

I do t get it. These guys think they aren't good enough to play D1 football? Or are they leaving because the team won't be any good with players like them on it?
-
Agree. Both QBs can throw an accurate ball and Goliday will be the guy they are looking for.
-
When you only throw 10 passes a game, your rushing stats are going to be a little inflated. How many games did Army win this year?
-
The guy from Finley.

Pflugrad would be a good get without the incidents that happened at Montana. With what happened at Montana, he would be a GREAT get. he will be bent on showing that he runs a winning program and a clean program.

Bohl's move to Wyoming lowers my expectations for who the FCS can attract from an FBS school. I think it shows that an O or D Coordinator in the FBS would be making at best a lateral move to coach at an FCS school. If they did well, they could move on to a job like Wyoming HC. They might have better luck getting that type of position by just staying put and doing well in the FBS as a coordinator.

How secure is Tibesar's job. What if the Bears don't make the playoffs? They just gave away a game to Vikings by choosing to kick a 47 yard field goal on 2nd down in OT. I am sure that coaching decision won't be forgotten if they miss the playoffs by a game.

After reading the article about Pflugrad in the Missoula paper, it is obvious he still has a chip on his shoulder. This will be a very good thing for the next program he takes over. He is going to spend the rest of his life proving that what happened to him in Montana was wrong. he will do this by winning football games and running a clean program. It is extremely unlikely he would allow the administrators at Montana to feel justified In firing him by letting something like that happen at UND or some other school. I think whoever hires this guy is going to be very fortunate.

Before I heard that Jackson might be leaving, I was considering asking the question "how long will Jackson last under the new coach?". I saw too many things that looked like eye rolling, pouting, and being disgusted when a ball wasn't thrown to him to be too worried about him leaving. If we get the type of coach everyone on this board wants, I don't know that Jackson would have lasted. Maybe he realizes this also. I would rather that he stayed here, not so much because we need him, more so because he has the skills and physical attributes to be a big time player with pro possibilities and I would hate to see that talent wasted.

I don't see a lot of players leaving. a lot of the good recruits from the past couple of years should see a lot of playing time that would be hard to come by if they went somewhere else. Based on Carr tweets, he should be ecstatic about the coaching change and the opportunity that lies ahead. If he isn't, then maybe he is just a whiner who we would be better off without?
-
He would come here with a lot of motivation to get back to the top.

If you want to get a guy like bollinger from the FBS ranks, you have to take a chance and do it now. If you wait until he has the experience to to be definite good get, you won't be able to compete with the offers other FBs schools will be making. Of course hiring him now would be a risk; hie may never develop into the winning coach we are looking for.
-
Agree with this only if they are class acts and command the respect of their players. I have seem so e comments on here where people felt that wasn't necessarily the case. Also, I would worry a bit about how much comradery there would be between those two and the coaches who replaced them.

Well, there you go! Brooks and Bubba.

I am lukewarm to this at best. SIU fans would probably like to see it though

I can't be a supporter of muss AND UND football at the same time. I think anyone who wants to see UND football reach its potential, and wants to see this program provide student athletes with an experience they will value for a lifetime can't be happy if muss gets another year at the helm. I personally think this program is becoming an embarrassment, and If Faison lets this continue, it won't be long before he will be applying at schools like Dickinson State for his next job opportunity For those who think Muss should have another year, tell me something that makes me believe this program hasn't gotten worse every year since Lennon left.
