  1. I think Hendrickson made plays against PSU and SDSU by relying completely on timing. Get the ball, wait 2 seconds, chuck it deep. Cal Poly and EWU have figured this out - disrupt the long routes and you've stopped Hendrickson. Hanson brings better reads and the ability to adjust. He's the man as far as I am concerned.
  2. I think we could still win this game. we've had some sacks. Improvements in the secondary play is needed if we want a chance.
  3. he was in. Try again, and again
  4. The problem is this may be our best match/chance to win in the next month.
  5. I would like to see Hanson from here on out. Let's see what he can do. Nothing to loose at this point. We need passing accuracy more than scrambling ability if we want to have a prayer in this game.
  6. I am getting tired of seeing Hardin overthrown.
  7. is that merserau's 2nd or 3rd fumble this year?
  8. You gotta like Hanson's ability to find the open receiver.
  9. who missed that tackle on ESU's first play of the drive?
  10. Our defense has showed EWU early that they need to assume we are going to miss tackles and the extra effort is worth it on every play. Not a good way to start the game. Looks like our offense will score some points though!
  11. Golladay will have his break out game. We get one sack, and can't keep EWU under 45 points. Miller returns to form at running back and scores on a long run. EWU quarterback rushes for 70+ yards. Hanson won't play yet and EWU makes our quarterback look bad by interfering with the timing on the routes. ( (I really hope I am wrong about this one.) EWU 48 - UND 31
  12. I am still wondering what kind of team we have. Are we a team that found a way to let Portland State come close to forcing overtime, could have lost to Sac State if the defense didn't have a lot of luck on their side, and lost to Cal Poly at home with a porous defense? Or are we a team that came very close to blowing the Portland State game wide open, dominated Sac State in the second half, and was driving for the winning score against Cal Poly midway into the 4th quarter? Hopefully we get a positive answer to this question this weekend!
  13. I would think Hanson will be the clear choice next week. Still hope to see a package put in place where we can use Hendrickson once in a while to keep the defense guessing.
  14. Nice to get the win and see the offense start to run the ball, but we need to find something that works on D. We got a lot of breaks in this game - turnovers, field position, good spots from the officials. The outcome of this game could have been very different. The next 5 weeks of the schedule will be brutal and I think we will need to play better than we did tonight to win any of these games. But, it appears we are headed in the right direction. On another note, the TV announcers comments about the Fighting Sioux nickname were hilarious!
  15. No controversy here. Hanson was deemed the better player in spring and fall camp. We can expect better accuracy from him than Hendrickson, and Hanson can probably make a better read of the defense. With the receivers we have, these two points trump Hendrickson's mobility. With Hendrickson's outstanding play in the back up role, we have the luxury of waiting until Hanson is 100%, and should consider putting some wildcat plays in the playbook when Hanson returns. If Hanson falters, then there is a controversy.
  16. Seems crazy to me. I will be surprised if we see another team do as good a job at stopping our run game as PSU did...time will tell I guess.
  17. Not sure how the PSU coach can this: "It was an utter breakdown in discipline on every single front," Burton said of his defense. "And it will be corrected. Utter means everything. It didn't matter what was called. It was not executed in the fashion in which we expected. "I could not be more disappointed in the way we played on the defensive side of the ball." They completely shut down our run game. Thankfully this came at the cost of giving up some big pass plays. I would agree that our line play on both sides of the ball needs to improve, and I think the secondary is a question mark at best. On the bright side, tackling issues should be fixable, and we beat a team that gives us legitimate hope at being in the upper third of the BSC at the end of the year!
  18. Does anyone know if there is a location close to Becker MN that will be carrying the game?
  19. does anyone know if the game will be televised by the ABC affiliate in Minot/Bismarck? (KBMY)
  20. I have inlaws coming for the weekend. Anyone know if the game will be on the UND sports channel?
  21. Shannon Burnell. In my opinion he could shed tacklers better than anybody in recent memory. I think he was key to the UND turnaround in the early 90s.

Don't be so sure that you would have faired any better with Anes at QB. Your back up QB gave your offense a dimension that it might not have had with Anes. Your back up gained a lot of yards scrambling and running QB draw plays. Had Anes been playing you might not have faired any better that UC - Davis - 2 points scored for the entire game. They had a great QB too. It should be a great game next week. Good Luck.
