Glad to see we continue to recruit the Illinois area. We have gotten some good talent there
-
i dont see him jumping ahead of harris, carter, or jjs at db. Maybe he plays at safety, but if he isn't a solid contributor there why not trade a year or mediocre play for a year as a fifth year senior, especially for kid that young?
-
how about red shirting a year and moving to db?
-
Glad to see ratelle getting the recognition he deserves. Hard to believe he accomplished what he did at north Dakota with only being a tso year starter.

No concerns at all. We have a lot of players on our roster who only had 1 D1 offer, and it seems to be working out pretty well. Sometimes coaches miss on good players. How many offers did Reyes, Olivera, Adler, Kuska, and Hardin have? Sometimes coaches miss badly - Goliday, Schobert, and Santiago. There are a lot of good football players out there and our coaches seem to be doing a good job finding them.
-
agree with that. No long runs from Santiago, and a couple of times when santiago tried the stiff arm, CP was able to keep their angle and run through the stiff arm.
-
Anyone remember Lamar Gordon? He was a bison RB who played in the NFL...and never scored a touchdown against UND in 4 years. UND 41 Cal poly 13
-
agree. This puts us in the top 3. If e. Wash. wins, I still don't know that they look any stronger than we do. We both beat Portland state, get blown out by Montana, and didn't beat any other ranked teams. We have an FBS win and they don't.
-
i don't see EWU and UND both bbeing a lock if they get to seven wins. If Montana gets to 7, they.could be the third team in. The big sky probably isn't getting 5 teams in even of they have 5 at 7 wins. In fact, I think e. Wash. might be out already with at most one quality win at Portland state, which is unlikely.
-
agree both TOs were completely on studsrud
-
how about moving him to safety next year AND redshirting him. With nevermann and the wisco kid seacrest coming in I just don't see a lot of RB time in his future. He could still run the ocassioal sweep.
-
Studsruds also throws latw, yet we managed to get some completions with him at QB, with the same receivers and pass protection. Put any of our three QBs in a situation where you only throw when there are no other options and you're in for a tough end to the season. We have 3 games left and won't be favored in any of them. We will need to have some kind of passing threat available or we could end up finishing the season on a 6 game skid.
-
Regardless of who the QB is, there needs to.be play calling that lets the QB have some early success in the passing game. This means throwing on first and second down early in the game.
-
From reading the paper, sounds like Montana worked hard to get their qb confident before the game. Also from the paper, Bubba doesn't seem too concerned about that... Pointing out that studsruds throwing and running abilities are much better than Bartle's doesn't accomplish anything positive for this team and I was surprised to see that come from Bubba

i am assiming he is hurt. Is medical redshirt an option for him?
-
I don't care how bad our passing game is, if our OC can't find a high percentage play to get us 5 yards on a.pass, when the D is zelling out for the run, we need to get a different OC

My stream is poor today.

Anyone surprised Olivera isnt getting more carries? He has shown some pretty good strength on oƧcasion. I like Smith's speed, but wonder how well a 17 year old kid is going to hold up. Really wish he would have red shirted this year. If he is out with injuries after just three games, is a medical red shirt an option?
-
Seriously? Losses to Wyoming and NDSU, and getting thru the BSC schedule with only two losses wouldn't be a successful season? Ummm, OK.
-
It doesn't bother me that we aren't giving Wyoming any extra film to study, especially when we are putting in some new schemes. Also, a scripted scrimmage of offense against defense will give the coaches a much better chance to evaluate the players they need to make decisions about. This game isn't televized because the coaching staff didn't want it to be televized... This year.

No radio

There is an upside to this one. Think about it. "Here we go bison, here we go, big cocks suck, here we go bison, here we go, big cocks suck..." Might be 2018 before the FU folks think about what they are really saying, but once they figure it out, that chant might finally be put to rest.
-
I am a little surprised at the hype over studsrud. If we have an offensive line and a run game, then by far the biggest thing we need out of our qb is passing accuracy, and I think bartles and molberg are way ahead of stuezrud in that category. I still think it makes a lot of sense to redshirt studsrud.
-
I think either molberg or bartles can be effective for us. If we have some success running the ball, which I think we will, we don't need a quarterback to do a whole lot more than hand the ball off and make Good reads on the pass plays.I would really like to see studsrud red shirt next year. With the quarterbacks we brought in this year, I think it would be good to have him have a couple of years of eligibility left after Bartles and Moberg are done.
