On second thought/in retrospect 3+ years later, either both Beal and Hurst were woefully misevaluated when they were being recruited or since their arrival here at UND their development completely stalled under Mal’s watch.

Yes, but also throw in that W Mich, CC, and…gulp… Bemidji St are every bit as good (or TBH, probably better) than UND. Gut punch.

Unless Mal can turn this around soon when conference play starts up, she should be gone next season.

As I recently posted maybe a few weeks ago either here or on FB, in soccer (coach now since fired), softball, and volleyball the combined overall winning percentage in conference play only for those 3 teams in the last 4 complete seasons is a putrid 27%. That’s atrocious. Throw in lady’s hoops for past 4 complete seasons conference play only and it increases slightly to 31%. I’ve a good hunch the other 3 Dakota schools far exceed that in those sports.

Yupand so are we. That’s why all these games this season vs Bob Morris, Miami, etc. are such tight battles. The skill just isn’t what it should be (very apparent) and lack of any real urgency in their play until it matters.
